I am happy to report that I've purchased plane tickets to go home and see my family. It has been over a year since I was last home. I will finally get to meet my niece Taylor and they will get to meet Emelia. I will be heading out the end of January and staying three weeks. We will do Autumn's birthday party and invite Grandma and Grandpa Jordan from Georgia to come over and visit. Not sure yet, but I may go and spend a few days with the Jordan side too! We shall see. Will January ever get here?!?!?

Christmas.
Merry Christmas. Please forgive the lack of "saying" anything and enjoy our photos.
The progression of a happy to unhappy Emelia.

One.

Two.

Three.

Four. I'm sorry, but it really made me laugh.

Getting ready to head out for Christmas Eve service.

While waiting for Autumn to wake up this morning, Emelia decided it was time to start crawling. She can only go backwards and it is a fun sight to see her move about the room, pointing her rear the direction she needs to go.
Bring on the Christmas morning joys.

I scare me.

I want some chocolate too Grandma Coleman.

Sean's big gift from me. A bottle of Dom Perginon that I think we may enjoy on New Year's Eve.

My big gift from Sean.... hey, what is he trying to tell me? Seriously, I really wanted that.

Autumn's Mobigo- V Tech learning game.

An Emelia toy from Grandma and Grandpa Jordan. Big hit!

Autumn's camera from Sean and I.

Autumn's puppy from Grandma and Grandpa Jordan. She really loves it and has been walking around holding it like a baby all day.

Autumn's kitchen tools from Grandma and Grandpa Coleman. Also another big hit with Autumn. She donned her Apron and got busy right away in the kitchen.

Helping dad make a pumpkin pie.

Completely random, but making room for new snow. Do you see how high that thing throws the snow?
All that is left for the Jordan's is to enjoy Christmas dinner. We are having a roast chicken and vegetables, homemade cranberry sauce, homemade bread and plenty of desserts (pumpkin pie, Cheesecake Factory Cheesecake, Holiday Bark, Oatmeal Craisin cookies, etc..).

Merry Christmas, from the Jordan's.

A Lunar Eclipse.
Even though it snowed quite a bit yesterday, the clouds cleared up in time for us to see most of the lunar eclipse.

It was pretty cool. The other GREAT thing about this is that it is the winter solstice. That means we will start adding daylight to our hours of darkness. This pleases me to no end.
So I downloaded some more photos and here is a progression of the lunar eclipse.

It is faint, but if you can see the blue line, that is the outer edges of the moon.

I think it is pretty cool. Shortly after this photo, the clouds really rolled in.

My friend Amy (also in Alaska) got this beautiful shot.
It has been somewhat a strange week. I came down with some sort of stomach bug and was puking my brains out. I just started eating food again. Sean and I can finally start discussing what we are having for Christmas eve and Christmas dinner.
To add to the busy Christmas Season, Autumn has been telling me for a few days now that her ear is disgusting. She has been grabbing at it and pulling on it, so Sean took her to see the doctor and sure enough, the girl has an ear infection. She hasn't ever had an ear infection before and the next time she tells me her ear is disgusting, I'll know to take her to the doctor right away.
I've finished all my Christmas shopping, wrapping, mailing. If you were expecting a gift from me, you should have received it already.
Sean is headed out to do his Christmas shopping. He is such a slacker! T minus 4 days until Christmas and he is just now heading out!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'll add a few more pictures from the eclipse later on today, so if you are only seeing one photo, check back later.
Emelia recently has started eating a lot of finger food.

A new fave, yogurt!

She likes it so much, she tried to eat the bowl!

And she is very nearly crawling, but here is a picture of her standing. Please forgive the blurriness of the photo, it isn't easy to catch a picture of her standing! I just LOVE those fat chunky legs sticking out over her baby leggs!
Merry Christmas week!

The week before Christmas.
I am such a slacker. I haven't been doing a very good job of keeping up with my blog. I apologize. I have been reminiscing. Looking over my blog from this same time last year, I didn't realize how sad and lonely Autumn and I were for Sean. I am so grateful to have him here with us this year. We really have been just soaking him up.
We recently celebrated Christmas at Sean's work with a party for the children.

Emelia got all dolled up.

Autumn hung out with her friend, Lila (she pronounces it La La).

Santa made an appearance and to my surprise, Autumn sat with him. Santa asked Autumn what she wanted for Christmas and after much thought, she told him,

A LOLLIPOP!!! I told her no more lollipop's, so she figured she would pull a fast one on the big guy. Thanks Santa!

Emelia's turn. Everything was going great until she turned and

Really got a look at him. She tried to pull his beard off, then began to scream bloody murder. I'm not going to lie, it really made me laugh.

Santa gave both the girls books. Emelia's book is made of cloth, so when she chews on it, no big deal. Autumn received "The Night Before Christmas." I wish you could hear her "read" it.
In other news,

Don't eat yellow snow. Sometimes Autumn is weird, what can I say?

It has been cold and dark. Right now sunrise is approximately 1010 am and sunset is at 342 pm. We are ready for the winter solstice so we can start adding some daylight.
In order to cheer up, once it gets dark, we head out in search of Christmas lights.

This is a house on base. That looks like a lot of work!

Russian spring park has a bad moose eating the flowers!

Check out those fish jumping!

We've been steadily receiving packages for Christmas. Emelia has been inspecting all of them. That card is from Grandma Betty and those specks around her, chocolate!

This Christmas apron is from my mom for Autumn, since Autumn likes to help out in the kitchen so much.

It is two sided and just so cute. I wish I had one!

Autumn LOVES it! I took it back and wrapped it.
Thank you to everyone who has been sending us stuff. I cannot wait to see the look on the girls faces when they open their gifts one week from today.

Once we got home from Christmas light looking, I took some pictures. Isn't she the sweetest?

What on earth is this?

Can you say Cheese? Yes, that is a block of cheese in her hand.
We hope that you have a wonderful Christmas and I look forward to showing you how our Christmas goes. Until then.....

Remember the reason for the season!!!
