Our trip to North Carolina
Last weekend we went to Asheville, North Carolina. We had a really good time! Here are our photos.
Our first stop?
Grandad's Apples.
What? Doesn't every apple pickin, corn mazin', pumpkin patchin' place have a big giant gorilla outside of it?
Arkansas Black apples (I have never had before).
Gold rush (I have never had before!).
Winesap apples (I've never had before!). I am so excited to try all these new kinds of apples.
I thought it was beautiful outside.
Corn maze time.
I thought the corn looked pretty neat.
Child of the corn.
Roots of the corn. The roots almost looked like spider legs to me. I didn't know they looked that way.
You talkin' to me?
There were different stations to stop at and a hole punch to mark your card. We did not make it to all of them.... someone had to go to the bathroom!!!!!!!!!
I loved the way the sun would shine through the clouds and into the corn.
After we finished up the corn maze, we headed to the pumpkin patch. We let Autumn pick a pumpkin and then the girls rode the cow train.
Millie got Milk Dud.
Autumn got lady.
They really enjoyed that. Once we filled up on pastries, and all things apples, we headed over to
Chimney Rock.
There were stairs.
Lots of smiles, but more stairs.
And even more stairs!!!!
Chimney Rock!
Devil's head. If you look just past Autumn, that is a parking lot. It felt like we were pretty high up. I was proud of the girls. They did an excellent job of the stairs, hiking. Autumn did most of the climb on her own. Sean and I took turns with Millie, but I'm pretty sure I carried her most of the way.
The view from exclamation point.
The elevation.
That was really a workout. I got winded a few times, but thankfully, Sean and I are in decent shape. I recovered quickly, like within minutes.
Autumn and her leaf on the way back down.
Day one? Complete.
The Jordan's.
