It's May and still I could say the night before Chemo.
So much has happened since my last post in regard to my treatment. I completed 4 rounds of "red devil" and 12 rounds of Taxol.
My family went on a cruise to the Bahamas.
When we got back, I had a double mastectomy with expanders placed in my chest.
My pathology came back and as it turns out, I need more chemo.
I start chemo tomorrow.
I also start the ovary suppression.
At this point, I am hoping I just don't kill anyone.
I have no idea what to expect.
What I do know, people keep commenting on my hair and how I am almost done with treatment, etc.
I am not there.
This new chemo will be every three weeks for ONE YEAR.
This changes everything for our family.
In news that is not related to cancer.
Sean and I made an observation that our children are just not doing enough around the house.
I think a lot of this got away from us when we were in the thick of treatment and just trying to make it from day to day, minute to minute.
Now that I feel well enough to contribute more around the house, I decided that it was time for my children to stop being free loaders.
We sat them down and explained to them what was expected of them daily and what chores they would be expected to do once a week.
At their ages (10 and 7 3/4) I was doing the dishes twice a week and plenty of other household chores.
We started off with three big one time a week chores (clean their bathroom, load/unload the dishwasher and vacuum their room). By the end of summer, I would like to add wash, dry and fold their own laundry.
Last night was Millie's first attempt at doing the dishes......
Bless her heart.
I'll add more soon. I need to update and post pictures from our cruise. Hopefully soon.
