It's a dirty job, but someone has to do it.
Blueberry picking in the rain!! OK, it wasn't that dirty, but it was COLD, WET and did I mention COLD! It was 50 degrees and raining, but with just a few weekends left with Sean, we had to put our raincoats on and go at it. We went to Hatcher's Pass- you have to mind your elevation to find the ripe berries.
We walked along the road initially, but we were too high in elevation, no blueberries in this area. Autumn was enjoying the mud puddles and rocks though.
Making a wish.
We went to a lower elevation- 2800 feet approximately, and found the blueberries. We made Autumn hold the bucket and can I say, it wasn't the most genius plan we ever came up with.
She consumed an awful lot of blueberries. Every time I turned around, the berry bucket was empty!
As you can see, Autumn was less than thrilled about the weather. In her defense, her hands were freezing! I know I was soaking wet. In the end, we had a "bucket" of blueberries and an awful lot of family fun!
