The week before Christmas.
I am such a slacker. I haven't been doing a very good job of keeping up with my blog. I apologize. I have been reminiscing. Looking over my blog from this same time last year, I didn't realize how sad and lonely Autumn and I were for Sean. I am so grateful to have him here with us this year. We really have been just soaking him up.
We recently celebrated Christmas at Sean's work with a party for the children.
Emelia got all dolled up.
Autumn hung out with her friend, Lila (she pronounces it La La).
Santa made an appearance and to my surprise, Autumn sat with him. Santa asked Autumn what she wanted for Christmas and after much thought, she told him,
A LOLLIPOP!!! I told her no more lollipop's, so she figured she would pull a fast one on the big guy. Thanks Santa!
Emelia's turn. Everything was going great until she turned and
Really got a look at him. She tried to pull his beard off, then began to scream bloody murder. I'm not going to lie, it really made me laugh.
Santa gave both the girls books. Emelia's book is made of cloth, so when she chews on it, no big deal. Autumn received "The Night Before Christmas." I wish you could hear her "read" it.
In other news,
Don't eat yellow snow. Sometimes Autumn is weird, what can I say?
It has been cold and dark. Right now sunrise is approximately 1010 am and sunset is at 342 pm. We are ready for the winter solstice so we can start adding some daylight.
In order to cheer up, once it gets dark, we head out in search of Christmas lights.
This is a house on base. That looks like a lot of work!
Russian spring park has a bad moose eating the flowers!
Check out those fish jumping!
We've been steadily receiving packages for Christmas. Emelia has been inspecting all of them. That card is from Grandma Betty and those specks around her, chocolate!
This Christmas apron is from my mom for Autumn, since Autumn likes to help out in the kitchen so much.
It is two sided and just so cute. I wish I had one!
Autumn LOVES it! I took it back and wrapped it.
Thank you to everyone who has been sending us stuff. I cannot wait to see the look on the girls faces when they open their gifts one week from today.
Once we got home from Christmas light looking, I took some pictures. Isn't she the sweetest?
What on earth is this?
Can you say Cheese? Yes, that is a block of cheese in her hand.
We hope that you have a wonderful Christmas and I look forward to showing you how our Christmas goes. Until then.....
Remember the reason for the season!!!
