Our trip to Cypress Gardens.
While we were in Charleston we had the opportunity to hit up a wonderful place called Cypress Gardens. If you have ever seen the Mel Gibson movie, "The Patriot," you might recognize it. Some of the swamp scenes were filmed right here.
Before I get to those pictures, just a few from another trip to the park near my mom's. I'm hoping once we get to Georgia, this will be commonplace for my kiddos.
Oh the glorious sunshine.
Back to Cypress.
Alligators are common in the low country. This one is a fake.
Silly butterflies might be more rare. Abby and Autumn.
Cole and Taylor.
Emelia and Grass.
Enter:
The Butterfly house.
Doesn't that make you smile?
That girl looked like that just about the WHOLE time we were in Charleston.
A student of nature.
After the butterfly house we went to the reptile house where some people didn't seem to care there were children present.
On that note, we went out.
To get on the swamp.
After rescuing Emelia from the jaws of a gator, we
Geared up. Does this flotation device make my cheeks look big?
In the boat we go.
The rare smile from Cole.
While out on the water we came across
An alligator of course.
Emelia's reaction.
Autumn's reaction. Autumn was more upset about me telling her she couldn't lean half way out of the boat.
So we start approaching this bridge thinking, we'll fit under it.
As we start getting closer....
EVERYBODY DUCK!
I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Even though she didn't smile as much as I would have liked, Autumn clearly had a lot of fun.
