Peak 1186.

I've actually done this peak already, but for some reason, we NEEDED to do it again?

When we arrived at the trail head (South Fork, Eagle River), there were about 9 million people in the parking lot.

Thankfully, they were all headed to Eagle and Symphony Lakes.

We passed through the crowd and within 0.4 miles found ourselves at the turn off for Hunter Pass.

This portion of the trail is on 0.4 miles long, but for some reason, it feels really straight up.

Actually, it's just about 700 feet of elevation.  I don't know why it feels so terrible!

The wind was pretty wicked up on the ridge line.

Felt like I was getting slapped in the face.

It was cold up there.

There was even some ice.

Overall we did 3.6 miles (round trip), 1962 feet of elevation gain to a max of 3,907 feet of elevation.

When we got home, I indulged in my pumpkin swirl cheesecake.
