A Mere Stone.

Image
Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me. The biggest untruth in my life to date. To get you all caught up, I'm having surgery on Monday. This cyst in my hand (Cicero, I named him) is being removed. It is wrapped around a nerve and it hurts. It hurts when I run, it hurts when I do push ups or pull ups. It hurts when it is cold outside. There are times it feels like there are molasses in my hand and it just doesn't want to move. Thankfully, I'm a right hander and this is my left hand. Friday I go for my pre-op appointment. Then, after I grab Autumn from school, we leave for Charleston. We are celebrating Autumn's birthday with my family, like we have done several times now. Sean leaves on Saturday for a TDY in Missouri. We come home from Charleston on Sunday. Then my surgery is Monday. Sean will come home a week later and then Millie's surgery is on Tuesday (Feb 10th.). I know I've been so terrible about keeping my blog up, but I blame Sean!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ah!! When he deploys, I will be much more diligent about it. It was hard to weed these pictures down to just a few because there were so many I loved. The one of Millie with her back to the camera, might be my favorite. Gatlinburg was simply stunning. This poem by Angela Morgan, Titled, "God the Artist" describes it perfectly. God, when you thought of a pine tree, How did you think of a star? How did you dream of the Milky Way To guide us from afar. How did you think of a clean brown pool Where flecks of shadows are? God, when you thought of a cobweb, How did you think of dew? How did you know a spider's house Had shingles bright and new? How did you know the human folk Would love them like they do? The Jordan's.

I'm having such a hard time keeping up with my blog. We are always on the move and there is always something to say about something when you are a Cherish Hope. I'm just going to do my best to plug ahead. I wanted a picture of the name of the hotel we stayed at in Gatlinburg (technically Seiverville), but the girls were not interested in letting me get a photo without them in it!!! If/when we go back, we will stay at this hotel again (Clarion Inn Willow River). We loved it. Our first stop this morning was: The Apple Barn. We were after breakfast and apples. Ridiculous faces. Take a picture of my rain coat. OK mom. Enough of the pictures. The Christmas shop. Oh Millie! Ballerina!! Sweet Autumn. Sweet Millie. Again, with that face Millie!! Beautiful red!!!!!!!! Doesn't everyone pick apples this way?? HA HA HA It wasn't what I had in mind when I decided we should do some apple picking, but hey, it was right here, availabl...
