Pine Mountain Trail.
It is Cinco de Mayo and also Sunday. When we woke up this morning, for the first time in days, it was sunny. I decided we would HAVE to play hooky from church and go bask in the sunshine.
I cannot believe it, but I convinced Millie she needed to wear "hiking" pants!!!!!!!!!!
Millie's normal mode of transport.
Autumn's.
Jump!
Sweet girl. It was weird seeing her in pants!!!! I mean, is she even my child?
All sorts of things to be discovered on the trail.
All kinds of fun to be had.
Millie called these the spiders in the sky!!
We discovered a few fish and a frog in there.
The sunshine was wonderful. I have to be honest, I didn't feel bad about missing church at all.
Pretty.
I want to do some research on these things. I don't remember what they are, what they are called and are they edible??
The three chicks.
Sean and Autumn.
Autumn insisted on taking a picture of me and Millie.
Autumn's turn.
We took a little break here to munch on some strawberries.
Silly girl.
This butterfly followed us for awhile.
Sean said that this was not easy! I did have visions of all three of them falling in!
This might have been the coolest thing we bumped into out on the trail! A very small birds nest. I was having a hard time getting my camera to focus on the bird and not the leaves, but shortly after taking the photo, the bird flew out! It was pretty cool.
We did 5.5 miles today. I'm not sure on the time exactly, but here is the out and here is the back. By the time we were done, I was starving! My stomach was eating itself! The girls were hungry. Sean was hungry!
I did what any good mom (that plays hooky from church) does on a Sunday....
Cherry Berry!
Autumn's "ice cream". Tahitian Vanilla with sprinkles and M&M's.
Milli Vanilli
Her "ice cream" was birthday cake with sprinkles.
This is what I get almost every time we go! It is White Chocolate Wonder with chopped Reese's peanut butter cups and peanuts. Oh yeah!!!
What is left for this Cinco de Mayo? Well, we are going to grill up a flank steak that has been marinading all day for steak fajitas.
Happy Birthday to my Mother in law Phyllis!!
The Jordan's.
