The first and the last.
This is Autumn on the (2nd day of school) first day of school, August 2012.
Millie on her first day of school, complete with mix matched shoes and on the wrong feet!
Both girls, this morning. I was shocked to see what changes there are among them. Even Autumn looks completely different to me and yet the same. Millie looks like a different human altogether.
Today at school there was a pizza party for the kids.
Autumn, Leah (the director's youngest daughter) and classmate Sierra.
Autumn told me at home that: "Miss Keri and Miss Daisy are going to cry at my graduation." Deep in thought.... "I don't know what they are going to do without me."
Oh my goodness that gave me a chuckle. Miss Keri told me that they were practicing handing out the diploma's and shaking hands when Autumn whispered to Miss Keri "I am going to miss you." Miss Keri said that nearly made her cry on the spot because Autumn does not show affection in that way at school or in public.
Autumn's dearest Boyd. Word on the preschool street is that Sierra and Boyd are boyfriend and girlfriend. Autumn told me she was OK with that because she doesn't "want a boyfriend, a husband OR a baby. Hugging and kissing is disgusting."
Autumn, Millie and Miss Keri.
Autumn, Miss Daisy, and Millie. Miss Daisy was the assistant in Autumn's class.
Autumn, Miss Sandi and Millie. Miss Sandi is Millie's teacher. Miss Sandi told Millie that she was going to miss her and Millie replied, "I am going to miss you too." I teared up! Miss Sandi is not coming back next year.
Kalysta, Millie, Miss Tricia, and Autumn. Miss Tricia was the assistant in Millie's class.
Millie, Miss Angie and Autumn. Miss Angie is the director of the preschool. She was also the very first person I called when Autumn was hospitalized. I cannot even put in to words how much these people all mean to me. I am so glad that Millie will continue on at Cornerstone next year and I wish that I could keep Autumn there until she graduated the 12th grade.
Totally off topic, but I recently purchased some books that talked about going to kindergarten. We've been reading them everyday and will continue to do so until school starts. It seems to have taken some of the anxiety away for Autumn and she truly does seem excited about going to "big girl school."
One of the going away gifts Autumn received was a framed class picture.
"I am going to put this in my room so that I can look at my friends whenever I start to miss them."
The Jordan's.
