My hips don't lie.

Thursday, August 6th, I had my surgery to repair my collar bone.

They bone grafted from my hip to my collar bone and also put two titanium plates and I'm not really sure how many screws.

I was kind of nervous about the surgery because of the hip part.

I don't know anyone else my age that has had anything like this done.

I had to get my IV in my foot.

It actually hurt quite a bit, but my nurse got it on the first try and once it was placed, it didn't hurt anymore.
I have my surgeon's initials now on my shoulder and my hip.

I wasn't really sure what was going to be underneath this "waterproof" bandage they gave me.

I hated that picture.

It made me look fat!  HA HA

They sent me home the same day, but my hip was killing me.

I couldn't even lift my leg to get in the car.

Sean had to grab it and put it in.

I didn't really have any nausea, so you can imagine my surprise when later in the evening, Autumn and I were watching a show on netflix.

I looked over at her and said, "don't panic, but go get your dad now.  I am about to throw up."

I knew I couldn't get to the toilet quickly, but even if I made it to the toilet, I couldn't bend over.

Sean comes running and gets me a bucket just in time.

I was puking so hard I thought the stitches in my hip might come out!

I didn't do the stairs at all.

I did think about it.

Made it one step.

This is my mountain this week..... the stairs.

The next day I managed my steps around the house and really just slept.

I did make it up the stairs, twice.

By day three, I showered and walked the neighborhood.

Day four- I got the dressings off.

A walk.
I thought I might need to call Sean to come get me.  The clouds were rolling in.
I finally managed a shower and washed my hair, well, I wet it.
My dressing removed.  The incision is long, but it looks pretty good.
My hip.....  It probably doesn't look it here, but it is super swollen.

It doesn't hurt the way I thought it would.

It's a dull pain, but with heavy pressure.... like when you are having a baby and the head drops down.

Autumn walked with me around the block.

After, she and Millie rode their scooters down the street.

I sat in the back of the Outback and listened to them giggle and talk.
Sitting on the back deck getting a little sunshine on me.
A little more bruising.

Having some phone with my banana phone.

I am now day six, but by day five, I managed to hit 10 flights of stairs.

I took another really long, hot shower.

My hip is improving each day.

The pain is manageable.

I'm not really sure why my port is bruised, but it does hurt.

It hurts more up my neck than anywhere else.

I'm so grateful my mom sent me these little pads.

I am day six.

I walked 2 miles.

I put on a bra.

It's the little things people.

The Jordan's.
