The Ballfied.
Today I had plans to go to Gold Mint, but it was also the first day of school.
After some research, we realize that Gold Mint is 8 miles (one way) to the point that I want to hike to.
We decided to change our plans.
We went to the Ballfield.
I don't think that most people make the Ballfield their destination.
I think that usually you either go through to get to O'Malley peak or to Williwaw lakes.
I had no intention of taking the path down or up once we got to the base of O'Malley.
While we were at the Ballfield though, a nurse called me.
My surgeon had asked her to let me know that my cultures came back positive for infection.
I still do not know what strain, but I need to contact my infectious disease doctor and find out what the next step is.
I'm really sad about it.
I cried.
Hiking and crying do not get along.
I know I must have sounded like I had asthma or that I was completely insane......
Anyway, my pictures from our hike in the clouds.
7 miles round trip, 2,200 feet of elevation gain.
My photos end with my x-rays of my two titanium plates, 14 screws and my suture removal.
I worked way too hard at hiking to come home to this.........
On Tuesday I had my sutures removed.
The nurse asked me if I had any allergies.
Me: Erythromyicin and tape.
Nurse: Tape? What kind of tape?
Me: Most tape, but especially steri-strips.
Nurse: Let me see just how much steri-strip tape I can put on you!
