Autumn's one year check up.

Autumn had her one year check up yesterday. The appointment went as expected (for the most part). There was lots of crying involved (the Dr only need look in Autumn's direction to get the tears rolling). So here it is, Autumn weighed 21 pounds 2 ounces (50th percentile) and was 29 inches tall (50th percentile). We are still waiting on teeth and the Doctor did seemed surprised that Autumn did not have ANY at all. She said that if Autumn did not pop a tooth by 15 months, they would do an x-ray and make sure she has teeth. The doctor said she thinks she will cut a bottom tooth here shortly. So, as many of you know, we are trying to wean Autumn from breast milk. There are many reasons for this, but first and foremost, I feel it is time. When I tried to discuss this with the doctor, it was in the spirit of needing information and guidance and what I was met with was condemnation. She asked me why I was weaning and I told her that I was ready to. She then said, "So, YOU ar...

One step closer.

Today I finally submitted my application for the University of Alaska, Anchorage. I suppose it is about time I did it. I have to go by there and drop off my transcripts. It feels good to be one step closer. Hopefully I will hear from the radiology department soon. I have no idea what courses will transfer from the four other colleges I have been too. I was shocked when I realized that I have over 167 college semester hours. Crossing my fingers for an easy transition. I guess we will see.

Autumn's Happy First Birthday.

Image
The day was a success (at least in my book it was). Here are the photos. The Decorations. The set up. Sean made Autumn this shirt. It says, "The beatings will continue until morale improves!!!" Autumn's real outfit. My little princess. The Tink cake. The smash cake. Singing Happy Birthday to Autumn. Autumn eating the cake. Sean and Autumn. BF #1 Dylan and Ava over there on the side. Opening gifts. Me and Autumn. It was a beautiful day and a wonderful party. Thank you to everybody who came and thank you for all the gifts we received.

Happy Birthday Autumn.

Autumn's First Year

Image
Autumn turns one tomorrow!!! Make an on-line slide show at www.OneTrueMedia.com

No idea what happened.

Kelly and Ashley finished 65 miles out of the 100 mile race they were in. I am not sure at this point why they were unable to finish, but what a great accomplishment. Once again, I am so jealous that they had the opportunity to go and compete. Sean and I are hoping to do the 50K in two years (of course we will have to find a babysitter for Autumn---any takers??). So much stuff going on this week. Autumn's birthday is on Tuesday, her party is on Saturday and we will be spending this week getting ready for it. I cannot believe in two days, she will be one. I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, I am so proud of her and all of her accomplishments, on the other hand, it feels like it is going so incredibly fast. I look forward to posting a slide show on Tuesday showing Autumn's life.

Happy Valentine's Day.

What a great Valentine's Day. We made it to the movies and saw Coraline. We all enjoyed that very much. After the movies, we did some running around, then we just chilled out at home. Sean cooked us a great dinner. Autumn had: Valentine Green beans and pastrami. We had: Haute or not.... We set the mood by lighting the only candles we had in the house, Halloween candles. Don't forget the beer. We listened to Oldies music and ate dinner. Overall, a lovely time. It looks like Ashley and Kelly are doing great. Last time we checked, they had made it about 24 miles, about 76 miles left. Way to go guys!!! Lastly, Autumn would like to tell her BF #1 that she misses him and cannot wait to see him again.

Our Anniversary

Last night, Sean and I celebrated ten years together. It is crazy that it has been ten years. Do not get me wrong, sometimes it feels like it has been ten years, but other times, it does not. We went to Kobe , a Japanese Steak House here in Anchorage. The food was wonderful, the atmosphere was great and the price was right. Autumn was very entertained (yet afraid of) our chef. She did not know what to make of the big fire, but she didn't cry about it. She gobbled up almost all of my shrimp. This was the first time she ever had shrimp and I had no idea she would like it so much. We have a lot going on this weekend. We will be celebrating Autumn's birthday one week from today and have things we need to take care of for that. We need to get some things accomplished around the house, but we are making time for fun too. We want to go and see Coraline, go to the Museum of Natural History, go for a family walk and go see Kelly and Ashley cross the finish line of a 100 mile ...

My Dad is the coolest.

We had a pretty good day today. Autumn is still a little bit cranky which makes me wonder if something else is going on. I'll just say she is teething like I always do. Maybe, one day she will have teeth, or even a tooth. We had a super lame dinner. I am waiting until you get home to do some grocery shopping. Speaking of the kitchen, why does Autumn always feel the need to tear it apart? I swear, when I walked in there today, I thought you were home already. I found the culprit though: The Destructionator. Maybe I should show Autumn the long arm of the law: Which brings me to my next point. When you have wimpy arms like that and a husband who is always gone, you have to find some one/thing to open jars for you. SO glad we have this: My uber strong second husband. In a few minutes, I will be getting Autumn ready for bed. She wanted to tell you: My Dad Is The Coolest! I say: According to him!!! xoxox I close with the count: Your Favorite Wife and Airman. xoxoxo

We ate real food again!

Tonight for dinner, I decided it was time to try something a little more than bananas or applesauce. I made pasta with a little bit of bacon, a pinch of red pepper flakes and a tablespoon or so of cream cheese. It turned out pretty good and the best part is, that it stayed down!!! Autumn and I spent some time over at the Oasis today. Autumn was quite cranky and I actually contemplated leaving her there for a moment, but perhaps it was too soon after being sick to take her out. When we got home, we took care of dinner, then it was off for bath time!!! You know how much Autumn loves her bath time. Now I have NEVER posted a picture of Autumn taking a bath, but I thought these were very tasteful. Sean, if you disagree, you let me know and I will take them right down. Can't you just tell that she is thinking, "What sort of destruction can I cause right this very minute???" Pink Duck Watching. Such a serious face. I have to share with you that I am feeling so terribly b...

On the mend.

We have gone a whole entire 24 hours without vomiting or other. This is a good thing. Autumn is feeling like herself again and I think she was feeling cooped up in the house, so we headed out to the 5th Ave Mall. We walked around, checked out the sales, I ordered Autumn some french fries (which she gobbled all up),then we headed home. I am feeling much better, but now that it is nearing the end of the day, I feel completely drained. I cannot believe our ten year anniversary is next week and then in ten days, Autumn will be one. That is just crazy!!!!!! Any how, this is what your daughter was busy doing this evening: Autumn and Bad, Bad, Leroy Brown. The creepiest Bear in the whole dang town. Now, you may ask yourself, what website or what work was Autumn doing on the internet? No worries, I will show you: She and bad, bad Leroy Brown were checking out the daily prices on T. Rowe Price. When Autumn and bad, bad Leroy Brown discovered what the market looked like, she had this re...

Looking up.

It is difficult to deal with Autumn being sick without you. It is difficult dealing with me being sick without you. It is doubly difficult dealing with both. After our visit to the emergency room last night, I got Autumn off to bed almost immediately (she was worn out), but I was unable to fall asleep. I was back and forth to the bathroom a lot last night. Autumn woke up at 530 am this morning and that is what time we started our day. I feel as if I have been run over by an 18 wheeler or something. I just need some serious rest now. Every time I tried to nap today, the phone rang. I am turning the phones off tomorrow. If I do not get better, I cannot be the mom I need to be to take care of Autumn. Autumn seems to be doing much better. We both had applesauce (Autumn kept hers down, I did not). For dinner, I gave Autumn the noodles from my Chicken noodle soup and I sipped on the broth. That seem to give Autumn quite a boost in energy. She even started playing. After dinner...

Day Two

Image
This morning when I went to get Autumn out of her bed, she was crying. The moment she saw me, she started smiling, big! I played with her for a moment and realized something was not right. I noticed an awful smell. I stood up and bent over into the crib and that is when I realized why she had been crying. She had thrown up all over the crib, all over her blanket, all over her pajamas. I do not know how, but Sly and Airborne Steve made it out unscathed. I stripped down the bed, Autumn, threw the pillow away and started washing clothes and what not. Autumn is not running a fever, she has not thrown up all day long. I think that she just had an upset stomach from something she ate. I replaced her pillow and this time, I covered her pillow with a vinyl lining, a hypo allergenic cover, then the pillow case. This is what the new digs look like: Sly and Airborne Steve. Apparently Autumn did not think that our room was Tiggeriffic enough, so she did this: Fixing up our room. We warme...

Keeping busy.

Sean, So much to tell you. This morning when Autumn woke up, she asked for you. She wanted you to know that even though you nearly drowned her last night, that she was fine. She looked all over the house for you and every where we went today, she was shouting out dada. I wish I could explain to her that you had to leave, but you will be back. Cindy offered a great distraction by going with me to check out the Family Zone. It is a nice place, but working out there was nearly impossible. I cannot count the number of times Cindy and I had to stop to put Autumn and Dylan back near the toys. We did discover a workout session in the gymnasium part of the Family Zone that takes place on Tuesday mornings. I am going to do that next week and Autumn is allowed to play in the gymnasium while we are working out. Anyway, after that, we headed over to the Commissary and let Autumn and Dylan play in the Play Park. That ended abruptly when a little girl smashed Autumn to the floor and...
