Thanksgiving.

This year my birthday and Thanksgiving were the same day. We celebrated at my mom's house with about 30 people. We started the cooking process two days before Thanksgiving which turned out to be fortuitous because the oven broke on Tuesday. Dad and Great Grandpa Sam got it working after they took it almost completely apart. On Thanksgiving day itself, there was a fire in the oven. When my mom pulled out some of the foil in the bottom of the oven, she dropped it on the floor and the fire in the oven was now a fire on the kitchen floor. My dad grabbed Autumn and ran outside while my mom, great grandpa Sam and I put the fire out. Overall, it was a wonderful birthday and a great Thanksgiving. The kiddie table.

Millie Swims.

Day 2 of the Great Wolf Lodge. The cool thing about this place is that you can stay from park open to park close on the day you check out, but you have to be out of your room by 11 am. They have an automatic check out, so in the morning, after breakfast and coffee, we packed up all our stuff. We had stuff for the car and stuff for the park. We were walking around the hotel waiting for the park to open when we noticed people going in. It opened sooner that what we thought. We went and put on our swimsuits, but we had a talk with Millie about standing up as tall as she could so she could get a yellow band today. Once we got to the park, Autumn still had her band on from the day before, so it was all Millie. She gets over to the measuring stick and this time, she is RIGHT on the line. The little teenage girl asks me, "where you here yesterdsay?" Me: Yes. Teenager: What color band did they give her yesterday? Me: Yellow. Both my kids gasped a little bit,...

Catch up!

Autumn got really sick on Friday- she was diagnosed with croup most likely caused by swine flu. Sean came home late Saturday night and I was so glad! I was sleep deprived and really needed the support of an extra person to look after Autumn while I got caught up on some rest. Autumn is still coughing and running a fever off and on, but she is doing much better. We are planning to stay in this week just to be sure that neither one of us gets exposed to anything else! So, on to the fun stuff! Autumn acquired a new skill today. She climbed the baby gate that is on the door to our bathroom where we hide the cat food and water. We have to hide it because like most toddlers, Autumn cannot keep away from it. She got this idea: She dumped the cat food into the two smaller water dishes as well as all over the floor. Thanks.
