It was an "EGG"cellent Easter!
So many pictures.....
Let me start with Friday. Sean went for a hike out at Symphony Lake. I try not to begrudge him this seeing as how he hasn't really had any time to himself since he has returned from Afghanistan, but Symphony Lake is on my list of places I want to visit before we leave Alaska and Sean is perfectly aware of this. It is a 7 mile hike out to the lake and Sean said he had to use his snow shoes almost the entire time on this hike. Not something I'm ready to do right now. Here are his shots:
Sean the bomb.
The trail.
Symphony Lake.
Autumn and I had an Easter Egg coloring play date whilst Sean hiked.
Autumn helping getting the dye going. She poured the vinegar into the cups.
Getting ready!
Riley was there.
Izzy and her tongue!
Autumn happy as a clam.
We all know my child suffers from OCD. She managed to not get ANY dye on her hands and if there was a spill, she was Johnny on the spot cleaning it up!
Autumn looked like a professional artist!
The final product.
After coloring, we all had lunch- Broccoli Cheddar Chicken Casserole. Everyone seemed to enjoy it.
That evening, Sean made us Korean Style Pork Wraps with Chili Sauce.
Holy cow was that stuff good. That chili sauce was excellent too (a bit on the spicy side and not for the faint of heart!).
Autumn had chicken and rice and enjoyed it immensely.
This brings us to Saturday. We participated in the Base Easter Egg Hunt.
They had more than 50,000 eggs there. Some of the eggs had slips of paper in them with a number, that number would correspond to a prize. Holding Autumn back, making her wait until it was time was quite the job for Sean! She was ready as soon as she saw all those eggs.
Sean and Autumn.
Cherish and Autumn.
Autumn was really anxious to get going. I was glad to see that they had separated the kids into age groups. Autumn was hunting with 0 to 2 year olds.
Finally!! Autumn picking up an egg.
In the basket.
Pointing them out. And just like that (like 30 seconds later) all the eggs were scooped up.
Sean and Autumn were very diligent looking for a slip of paper in one of the eggs, but alas, Autumn wasn't a prize winner.
No bother for Autumn, the candy was prize enough!
Precious.
After the egg hunt, we decided to head to Barnes and Noble. Autumn needed to burn off some energy and I had a feeling we wouldn't make it there on Sunday anyway. Whilst at B&N, I received a call from Angie that she was heading to Chuck E Cheese so that Riley could play off some of that sugar. We were just next door to Chuck E Cheese and it sounded like a great plan.
Autumn and Riley hung out near the ski balls quite a bit. Autumn reminds me of Lord of the Flies in this picture.
Cheating at ski ball.... except Autumn doesn't understand cheating and rather than putting the ball in one of the holes that wins you points, she kept putting the ball in the ball return.
Sean was really encouraging both of the girls to cheat at the game, they obliged!
Autumn driving- can I just say that her driving is really frightening!
Now to Easter Sunday!
Autumn woke up in a pleasant mood, she was excited to see her Easter basket. She grabbed an egg out of it and immediately started snacking on candy.
We really had to encourage her to start looking for other eggs.
Autumn really liked the two sun dresses she got from Grandma and Grandpa Jordan!
Blowing bubbles!
We headed over to Sports Authority (to look for Sean some shoes) and Autumn felt she needed to work out.
She bumped into this guy, called him "Daddy" (yeah, that looks just like her daddy!) and was saying, "punch" while punching the dummy.
Easter Evening we headed to:
See Jenny.
She cooked us a wonderful meal (Roasted chicken, crock pot mashed potatoes, gravy, green bean casserole, Red Lobster style biscuits, and Individual carrot cakes).
The food was delicious and I had seconds!
Autumn's Easter Dress.
Izzy's Easter Dress. Getting either one of the girls to look at the camera was impossible!
Playing tea party.
Izzy climbed into the oven.
My daughter, the trouble maker, tried to keep her in there!
Then Autumn needed a turn in the oven!
Overall, a fantastic weekend, but we are exhausted now and will be glad to get back on a normal schedule! We will see how that goes with Sean on leave.
See you Thursday!
