Trains and Animals.

We met up with Alison and Michael this morning.

Our first stop was in Waverly Hall.

The only information I had was that Cindy (a lady in my Sunday school class and good friends with Alison), was friends with a man named Dewey that lived in Waverly Hall and had a train obsession.

I was told he had a train or two the kids could ride on.

I think that in my mind, I was thinking something like what we saw in Warm Springs.

Stationary objects that use to move, but now just sit there.

We arrive to a house with a lot of dogs.

Cindy tells me that the man's wife works for an animal humane type place and we wait for Dewey.

After some time, we hear some noise out in the woods and walk towards a track.

Wow!!

It looks like a pretty big track.

Dewey walks up with a leaf blower. He was out cleaning the track for us.

He tells us about the train track. How it was built, what modifications they are doing to it, etc.

He finally lets us on and we go around three times.

After going around, he gives us the details on how to operate the other train and leaves us to it.

I took this video. Millie wants you to know that her favorite part was when the train went into the woods.

The train stop from the other side of the tracks.

The Millie favorite part.

Sweet girl. Autumn was sitting in front of Alison, so I did not get any pictures of her.

After the train tracks, Dewey took the girls, Michael and I on a tour of his property.

He showed us where he plans to expand the track, his work barn, complete with a train lift as well as some relics they are in the process of restoring.

Then he gave us a tour of his house.

He had large mural paintings of trains in his living room.

After touring the house, Autumn wanted to play pool.

So Dewey and I taught the girls how to play.

We wrapped things up there around noon and made our way to Pine Mountain.

We made the mistake of skipping lunch.

I had brought snacks for the kids, but I did not really pack much for snacks for Alison or myself.

Michael knocked out on the way up there.

Once we got to the Animal Safari, it was obviously PACKED!

We didn't want to wake Michael just yet, so Alison parked and headed up to find out about the tickets and stuff.

While Alison was away, I was able to move from overflow parking, to the main lot. So I moved the truck.

When Alison got back, I realized she had to pay for mine and the girls tickets (She and Michael were free).

I guess I mistakenly thought that her pass covered us.

I felt really bad, but she told me not to worry about it, that I could pick up lunch.

OY!!! I just had a feeling that lunch was not going to make up the difference.

Anyway, we walked around the outside stuff (since we had a great parking spot) and then went into the park.

I think the girls, Michael, Alison and myself all had a wonderful time.

When Michael had enough, he went and got in his little car seat and went to sleep.

Poor guy was hungry and I know Alison and I were starving!

Autumn wanted a picture with this snake.

Millie. I think she actually does look like a cat.

I hope that Emu doesn't peck Autumn's eyes out!

Goat petting.

Michael was a little bit afraid.

Bad Millie.

Excuse me sir, do you have any grey Poupon?

Autumn really wanted to feed a zebra, but not one single zebra was interested...

Alison really did get her wildlife on!!! She was totally slobbed on!!

Did you know that emu's sat like that? Their legs look backwards.

Once we finished at the animal park, I called Fox's pizza den and ordered two pizzas and a salad.

Once the pizza made it to the truck, I thought I was going to die!!!!!!

I didn't realize how hungry I was until I could smell the food.

We drove home and ate at Alison's house.

Now we are home.

The girls took a bath and we are chilling out.

I'm pretty tired, but we really did have a fun day.

I love you.

Your current wife and favorite airman. xoxo
