Christmas Day.

We got off to a late start. Autumn was up past her bedtime because we went to Christmas Eve service. As I made my way downstairs, I was greeted by:

And:

Miss Pepper Annie-looking "festive" as usual.

Mr Penelope.
Mr Penelope stayed hidden for most of the day.

Sean and I made breakfast from a cookbook Phyllis sent me for my birthday. It was an egg, sausage, cheese, and potato pie. It was delicious and a great way to start the morning.

Autumn woke up around 830 and we headed right for opening presents. The main gift Sean and I gave to Autumn was her V-Smile. It was one of two gifts she opened by herself (minus the parts the cats tore off).

Grandma and Grandpa Jordan sent Autumn a ton of stuff to include: A baby stroller walker complete with a baby doll, a fish tank and clothes. Aunt Julie sent a care bear with DVD, a really neat jewelry box and a Hawaiian style dress. Aunt Jennifer and Uncle Brett sent a very neat talking Puppy dog, some new books and a Garfield movie.

I received some wonderful presents to include a nice new shirt, workout clothes, several books and cookbooks, GODIVA chocolate/hot chocolate, a cool puzzle and some ornaments.

Sean received some new clothes, some interesting cookbooks, and a very special 509th Unit coin for paratroopers.

After all the excitement from opening gifts, Autumn and I headed over to see Dylan, Cindy and Travis. Dylan's cousin received a Thomas the train set that was really cool and a big hit with Autumn.

When we got home, Sean had prepared Christmas dinner. This is what the spread looked like.

Christmas dinner.

Dinner comprised of a turkey (with Dressing and gravy), sweet potato pie, green bean casserole, sourdough bread, and deviled eggs. Sean and I enjoyed a Pinot Noir with dinner. Autumn loved the turkey and sweet potato pie. She tried to make friends with Pepper by giving her the dressing to the turkey. I don't know if that worked or not, but Pepper certainly enjoyed the food. Autumn sat at the end of the table mainly so she could not rub her food all over me or Sean. We watched White Christmas while eating dinner.

Since it is Alaska, you know I have to talk about the weather. It snowed pretty much the whole day. Here is what our porch looks like:

Snowy Porch.
Sean will have to shovel that-it is probably about 10 inches of snow. Good luck!!

Overall, it was a wonderful day. I believe we lived the true spirit of Christmas by enjoying each others company and thinking about the family members we were unable to see. I hope you enjoy our photos and thank you to everybody for all the wonderful gifts you sent.
