Happy MO Day!
I would like to say Happy Mother's Day to my mom, Madeline, Sarah, Devonne, Sean's mom, Jennifer and all my friends/family/dear loved ones!!
My mother's day was great. Sean served me up a heart attack on a plate this morning. We started with fresh cut fruit (pineapple, grapes, and blueberries), then moved on to corn beef hash with fried egg, cheese and bacon. Lets not forget the crescent rolls stuffed with sausage and cheese!!! Oh my gosh, I must run like ten miles now!!
After breakfast, we loaded up the car and headed to The Reindeer Farm. We had such a good time. After we checked in, we got a little bit of a brief on all the animals housed at The Reindeer Farm, then they briefed us on what we could and could not do with the animals.
Sean and Autumn getting ready to head into the petting portion of The Reindeer Farm.
Feeding Fiona, a Sitka deer.
The Reindeer were just running around in there. Autumn liked it at first, but as they got closer, she kind of changed her mind. She decided that it was time to go.
Sean went and got her and brought her back out with the Reindeer.
After a few minutes, Autumn seemed to really be OK with these big guys. We fed them and just sort of hung out with them for a bit.
Autumn telling them to back up a little bit.
Now she is playing chase with this guy.
OK, so Autumn was running from this guy and you can see he kind of kicks her in this video. Right after I stopped recording, this jerky reindeer walked over and kicked Autumn for real, knocked her over and next thing I know, Sean is jumping at the Reindeer. They all took off and Autumn was just fine. I thought maybe she would be afraid, but as you can see in the next photo:
It barely phased her. She was trying to get in the cage with this sweet Elk named Denali. The female in the cage with Denali was not as pleasant!
Autumn saying Hi to the Elk.
Autumn and Dolly the bison.
After our time at the Reindeer farm, we drove out to Hatcher's Pass, but it was still too wintry there and we decided to head to a lower elevation and get away from all the snow. We went over to Eklutna Lake.
Much of the lake is still frozen and there was still some snow on the ground, but we found an area that was pretty much melted out.
She is such a small human.
Happy Mother's Day to me!!
Two bumps on a log!
Such pretty views out there. Spring has sprung. We are getting buds on our trees now.
Happy Mother's Day to everybody!!
