A diagnosis

We saw the Pediatric Surgeon today and this is what he had to say.

1. The thing on Emelia's belly button is called an Umbillical Polyp.

2. It is rare.

3. At this point it just requires further monitoring. So long as it doesn't have anymore discharge, doesn't begin to bleed, the polyp doesn't return, or a rash doesn't develop, it is safe to assume that the original polyp wasn't connected to anything else (such as the lower intestinal wall or the bladder).

Since the polyp was torn off by our peditrician here on base at her appointment last week, there has not been anymore discharge. It is a fairly safe assumption that we will have no further issues with Emelia's belly button. I'm so glad that we don't have to worry about surgery. We will just say for now that Emelia is an odd ball. I wonder where she gets that from? Not my side of the family!! ha ha ha Yeah right!

I had some pictures I wanted to post today, but we recently purchased a new computer and I cannot figure out where Sean put the photos. So stay tuned for new pictures.

The Jordan's.
