High Five to Millie.
This morning I had French Toast casserole. It was pretty good. I woke up and saw on Facebook that Megan and her husband are back together after an 8.5 month long deployment. I browsed through those photos and it made me tear up some. It is such a wonderful feeling to actually touch the person you've longed for. Anyway, we got dressed and headed over to Kohl's. I bought Autumn a swimsuit.
The selection for one pieces was horrible. As a matter of fact, I couldn't even browse the selection, they weren't out yet. I had to tell the employee what size and what I was looking for. Autumn actually picked this swimsuit out online a few weeks ago, so we bought it.
Next up was Sam's.
We came home, unloaded the car and ate lunch. I had leftover Chinese food and the girls both asked for salad. After eating we stopped by Columbus Corner bakery and I ordered a small cake for Autumn. Then we headed to Monkey Joe's.
It was INSANITY in there. What was I thinking? There were at least three birthday parties going on. I sat down at a bench and didn't even bother taking my Nook out. I knew I was going to have listen and pay more attention than usual because of how many people were in there.
I guess something that Millie has in her favor is that people underestimate her. They discount her almost immediately because she is a little girl in a little princess dress. It is their mistake. I don't even want to think about when Millie is old enough to know she has that advantage because right now, at two years old, she is completely oblivious to this.
Autumn and Millie were hanging out together, staying pretty close to one another. They were in one of the medium sized bounce houses that has two entrances. Autumn and Millie climbed in one way and a group of like 5 boys goes in the other. I hear Millie screaming. She is in the back of the bounce house near the stairs. I hear Autumn shouting that they are smashing Millie. I'm trying to let the girls work this out (it isn't like the boys were really old, they were all 4 to 5 years old). From the best I can gather, they pummeled over Millie because she was too slow on the stairs. I come around the slide and see another dad is peeking over the sides and trying to maneuver over to where the battle is ensuing. Finally the crowd breaks free and it is just Millie and this four year old boy. They make it to the top of the slide at the same time and little Miss Millie decides to obliterate the boy. I swear if she was a hockey player, this is the moment where she made a choice and the gloves came off. She started pummeling him. She pinned him to the side of the bouncy house. I'm telling her to let him go. She doesn't even know I exist. Boy is crying. Millie looks like a mad woman. She just wouldn't stop. Boy breaks free finally and comes down the slide. I told Millie to come down the slide. I asked Millie what happened and she said that the "boy put his hands on me."
I look over at dad who is now holding his crying, whimpering 4 year old. I told him that I think Millie should apologize and he said, "It's Okay, I'm already embarrassed enough." As we walked away, I told Millie to give me a high five. Dad sees us and goes and sits down. I told Millie that she did exactly what she should have done. That no one should put their hands on her.
Millie is a force to be reckoned with. She is so laid back, until she isn't and then heaven help anyone that is in her way. She is so your child Sean Jordan!
I did not get any cleaning done today. Oh well. I don't normally clean on the weekend anyway, but I was hoping to get a jump start on my chores this week. Tomorrow is church for us. I hope I sleep well tonight. I feel very tired for some reason.
I love you.
