Sometimes it seems as if it is the deployment that never ever ends.
I've had such a busy day today.
From 545 am until now, just doing, doing, doing.
I accomplished a good bit, but still have about a million things to do this week.
I'm grateful that Millie hasn't had much in the way of homework.
After spending hours doing my own studying, I have to help Autumn study.
Honestly, I think she could do this on her own now, but she seems to need my direction.
Maybe it is just that it is our time to spend together, I don't know.
Autumn came home today with some papers and one of them was about the reading test they take each year.
It said she scored an 85 (as in she performed better than 85% of the national average, her age/grade).
She comprehends on 3.9 level (3rd grade 9th month).
I do not need some dumb test to tell me the girl can read.
Autumn loves reading and her vocabulary is expanding all the time.
I hope to continue to encourage her love for reading outside the classroom.
I stole from my genetics lab a pipette.
I gave it to Millie and explained to her what it was and what it was used for.
This was one of those plastic, sorry pipettes, but Millie thought it was the coolest thing in the world and immediately set to doing her own experiences.
She told me she LOVES science.
I hope to encourage that too.
I really wish I could bring them to lab with me sometime.
I think they would LOVE it.
After I start developing relationships with my professors, maybe I can swing something like that.
Autumn would kill to check out the rocks at my school.
I'm sure Millie would be thrilled to conduct any experiment in the lab.
I ran this morning and without looking at my watch or trying to maintain any particular pace, I just ran.
At the end, I was so shocked to see my time. 8:32 min/mile.
That is pretty good.
Tomorrow is sprints.
My favorite run day of the week.
I also have bible study tomorrow.
I need to get some studying done for philosophy and anthropology.
I have a test in each of those classes this weekend.
We are moving on in genetics to mitosis.
Do you remember mitosis?!?! Well, I do.
Some anyway.
I am really loving that class.
OK, so I'm off for now.
I love you.
PS- I found one really cool perk to being a Veteran.
There is a Veteran lounge on campus.
It has private access (you have to have a valid veteran school id card), with a fridge, a microwave, a couch, a TV, plug in spots for your electronics and best of all....
Computers with printers.
I went in and printed off all the material I needed for this week for FREE!!
We do not have ink for our printer and I don't have the money to buy it right now, so score!
Also, I'm super excited that I got some GI Bill money today.
It was the motivation I needed to get moving on some things today.
I'm not interested in paying any of that money back!
