Meet and Greet.
We went to school today for verification day as well as to meet and greet the teachers.
When we first walked in to the cafeteria, I saw a table for after school care.
I figured we would hit that on our way out the door.
We got our Jordan Family placard to place in the windshield at pick up time.
They've changed the times this year.
Autumn gets out at 225 and Millie at 235 pm.
The lady that runs the pick up told me to come at 245 pm, so that is what I'm going to do.
Next we met Autumn's teacher.
Her name was Mrs Barden.
She seemed old hat, nice, but don't mess with me. Not in a bad way at all, but that she runs a ship shape shop and quite frankly, that is fine with me.
I got the feeling that as long as you behave, you'll be great friends.
Next up was Millie's teacher.
Millie got Mrs. Turner.
This is Mrs. Turner's first year teaching.
She looked like she was 12 years old.
Millie was very, very shy, but took right to Mrs Lang.
I know Mrs Lang from last year and Kindergarten.
I've had the opportunity to talk with her several times and sometimes at length.
I like her.
She said that she really liked Mrs Turner and she was glad they were put together because Mrs Lang knows the ropes, but Mrs Turner brings the enthusiasm.
Millie said of Mrs Turner, "She is magic. I love her."
Once we were done exploring Millie's classroom (she headed straight for the science section of her classroom), I spoke to Mrs Turner about Millie wearing her glasses ALL the time and told her that you were deployed.
I felt like she should know that.
We headed back to the cafeteria where I filled out a BOOK for after school care.
Do you know that I was the very last one!!! All the people that came for after school care after me, were put on a wait list.
HOLY CRAP!!!
I would have been up there at 8 am if I had known that was even a possibility.
From what I gather, we are considered a drop in slot and we can basically come and go as needed.
I think once Alison can confirm her schedule with me, I'm going to try and use Alison once or twice a month that way it cuts down our costs.
I know she will not be available in August at all.
I paid a $25 registration fee today, plus the first Friday.
We actually did not need the service for this Friday, but I figured we will give it a test run.
That just seemed less complicated than saying, We don't need this service until the following Friday.
I may go in there and speak with the lady in charge though this upcoming week and ask if we can start next Friday.
It was really busy at the aftercare table and I was really just wanting out of there.
We did end up getting a new supply list.
I only needed 20-30 bucks worth of school supplies.
I got most of it.
The rest will/can wait until pay day.
I love you.
