Eat your heart out!

Today Autumn, Eli, Izabelle and I went to the Anchorage zoo. I'm not going to lie, the start of the ride was a little bit rough, but we managed and had a GREAT time!

My little peas in a pod! Izzy fell asleep on the way to the zoo.

Eli and Iz
Once we got there, every one was all smiles. My car said it was 80 degrees outside and boy pushing that stroller around, it sure did feel like it!

Autumn and Iz
Autumn and Iz rode in the stroller while Eli and I walked around. We pulled up to the Polar bear exhibit

And look closely, that is the polar bear in the water. He must have felt especially hot!

I don't think he had any intentions of getting out of the water today.

We made our way around the zoo and finally found the coffee house so that we could sit down and enjoy:
Story time at the zoo
Story time. Ms Judy, the storyteller, was talking about red foxes. To help the children put everything together, Ms Mary came over with a little guy named Chance.

Mary and Chance
Autumn and Izabelle immediately went to pet the puppy, who at the time was on the ground. I could tell he was a little nervous and when I mentioned it to Ms Judy she said, "Oh, he's been practicing, he won't hurt anybody." I of course was somewhat skeptical about all of this as I see Autumn and Iz fling their hands towards him. Ms Mary decides to pick him up, he was too nervous!! What a neat experience for all the kids. Every Wednesday at 1030 at the Anchorage zoo, they read a book and then meet an animal. I need to check the calender for the Grizzly bear week, will be skipping that......

Autumn at the yak
Autumn had a blast looking at all the animals. I think this is her official going to the zoo outfit.

All three munchkins.

Autumn petting a goat
The petting zoo was finally open. For a moment, I thought Autumn was going to try to ride this guy. She was so excited to pet them. She wasn't the only one though:

Look at the smile on Izabelle's face!! Eli is getting low to get a better look at that goat.

While at the zoo, we ran into a fella at the reindeer exhibit who was working on an art project. He took a moment to talk with Eli and explained to him what he was doing:
Art making
I thought it was really neat and his project looked like an authentic reindeer!

Brown Bear cooling off
I felt so bad for the animals. They are all so hot. The brown bears were in the water and even took a moment to balance on a tube. It was pretty neat. The kids were getting tired and hungry so I packed everybody up and we headed over to McDonald's to get lunch and play. On the way there I noticed huge water trucks spraying the grasses, shrubs and trees. I guess all this hot weather and lack of rain translates to a HUGE fire hazard. It has been very hazy here the last few days (which I have never noticed before)- I was told it is because of fires. Anyway, the kids had this to say on the way home:

All three sleeping
All three fell asleep. I pulled up into the drive way to see Amber and was so relieved. I left the car running and ran into my house, just barely making it to the bathroom!!! You try to go to the bathroom with three kids under the age of 4!!!

Sleeping in the car didn't last very long. All the kids woke up and we tossed them back in the pool. Amber gave Autumn another swim suit. It is so cute.

Autumn bottom! ha ha ha

Cool Autumn

We had so much fun today. I wonder how we can top it tomorrow!!

Looks like you guys had a very good time! And you are a brave woman, taking two toddlers and a baby out on your own! I get exhausted just imagining what it would be like for me to attempt that. Also, love the bathing suit, lol. So cute!!
