Strep Throat.

Millie walks into my room this morning, lifts up her shirts and exclaims, "Look mommy. What the hell!"

OK, Millie. That is bad, but you cannot say what the hell!!!

The second I saw it, I was 99% sure this was a strep rash.

I had to wait for the doc office to open at 8 am, but I was able to get the girls 10 am appointments.

Autumn didn't have a rash like this, but her throat hurt.

They did a swab test and both girls have strep throat.

Lame.

Dr Iris showed me Autumn's tonsils. WHOA!!! Her right tonsil was mega inflamed and looked painful.

She said that Millie's strep test came back just faintly positive, so we caught it rather quickly.

Dr Iris recalled Autumn's hospitalization due to amoxicillin allergy and decided to treat the girls with the same drug not in the penicillin family.

We went to Target to pick up the prescriptions.

You can imagine my surprise when I saw these bottles.

They are huge!!!!

The pharmacist freaked me out a bit.

She said that the drug the doctor prescribed has a cross allergy with penicillin.

The Pharmacist asked me if the girls had any allergies, I said yes, penicillin.

She said was it bad?

I said yes, she was hospitalized and her appendages turned purple because she was so swollen and was unable to walk.

The pharmacist said that I needed to watch Autumn like a hawk for any possible sign of allergic reaction.

To administer benadryl immediately and then head to the hospital if I even suspect that she is having a reaction.

We made a little pallet on the floor for the chicks and this is where we've spent the rest of the day.

Watching movies, eating popcorn, chicken noodle soup.

Alison stopped by and brought us some Italian ice (why didn't I think of that???).

I'm reading a book while the girls watch these horrible movies!!!

I love you.
