Packing for a C-17.

How does one decide what to pack when flying on a C-17. Autumn, left to her own devices, felt the need to pack:

shoes and movies
Dora movies and shoes. Interesting....

I have other plans though, in my carry on bag I plan to pack a Therma rest and my sleeping bag. I don't care if nothing else fits in my bag, those items are a must. I am hoping that we will be able to find a decent place to sleep and thanks to some photos from my friend Gloria, it looks like that shouldn't be an issue.

Back to Autumn packing though:
Packing dora
Mom, please don't forget the gajillion Dora movies our neighbors gave us for free (and that we plan to re-gift to Aunt Devonne for Cole and Kaitlyn).

I hope she has that much fun on the C-17. Should be interesting. Maybe we should try to jump out of it and get to experience what Dad does for a living?!!?

So off topic, remember I told you that Autumn was taking things of yours and hiding them in various places around her room. I about died laughing when I saw this under her pillow the other day:
good conduct
Your good conduct medal. I'm not so sure she deserves to hold onto that medal, but that is something special the two of you share, so I just try to keep track of it and make sure it doesn't get lost!

So Autumn and I are getting pretty excited about flying Space A. We do not know for sure when we are leaving, but I emailed you the details and as far as I can tell those are the dates/times we will be traveling.

I wish I could see your "sweet" mustache. Maybe you should take a picture of it for us and I hope you shave it before you come home!

Snowzilla.

Autumn and I began the day shoveling the driveway. That is much more work than it sounds like. I had to get us both suited up for the ten degree weather, put her in the backpack, then head on out. It took us about an hour to finish the driveway and when we came back in, poor little Autumn's face had frost nip on it. She has now had frost nip twice. Later today, we went to visit Snowzilla. Frosty the Snowzilla man is huge!!! The local government is trying to put a stop to Snowzilla citing a building code violation. Well, I say down with the man!!!! Keep Snowzilla up. Playing with fire.

I hear clank, clank, clank in the kitchen. This cannot be good, grab the camera first though- for proof. You never know what you might find. Uh huh! AUTUMN!! What mom? I wasn't doing anything! So I've moved the knives for now, but it is only temporary. They need to go in a locked cabinet. I took Autumn's step stool upstairs to our bathroom so she could brush her teeth. I think I'm going to head back to Target and buy another one. I'm lazy and do not want to drag one up/down the stairs. Autumn really enjoys brushing her teeth.... with MY toothbrush! Say AHHHHHHH- checking to make sure she did a good job. She is so funny. Autumn and I are going to head downtown after nap time to see about the ice sculptures and check out the Christmas lights. Remember that house in South Anchorage that does the Christmas lights to music over FM radio? This year is the last year, he is moving and his new neighborhood cannot support the traffic. The man in the box.

Not really, it is just Autumn but saying the little girl in the box doesn't sound as cool. Autumn got in the box and was popping out of it. Then she told me, "Mommy, go that way." I think Autumn is on the tail end of this "cold." She already seems to be feeling better. Her nose is drying up, so that is good. I gave both of the girls a bath tonight, then I even got one! Emelia did something today that shocked me..... She rolled over. Of course that happened the day after you leave. Something else that waited for you to leave..... a 4.9 earthquake. It was the first time I've actually felt one since we moved to Alaska. It was, to say the least, scary to me! It did sound like a train/car/plane hit the house. Autumn was in rare form today. She told me that: She was going to take a nap on the stairs. Just kidding!! Such a sweet girl. Tomorrow we go to the Buckner gym for the first time with Emelia.
