The Trail of Blue Ice.
I made the cinnamon rolls this morning and they were delicious!! I especially enjoyed the maple frosting.
Autumn didn't eat any, but that just means more for me!!!
While on the subject of food, lets talk about my waistline.
At almost 4 weeks postpartum, I'm getting there. Still need to strengthen and tone in my stomach, back and quads, but I'm slowly and surely making progress. I've been working on my push ups every day (and I HATE push ups). I've been running when I can fit it in, which quite frankly isn't all that often, but mainly I'm doing muscle strengthening exercises. So, on to our hike.
On our way down to Girdwood, we picked up KFC. Once we got down to the trail head, it was raining pretty good, so we invited the Colonel to eat with us in the car.
Once everybody was full and
Happy or
Satisfied
We took a few pictures
Tongue girl!
And headed out.
No sunshine today, but at least it wasn't terribly windy. There is still lots of snow on the mountains down at Girdwood.
Really, it was just a light drizzle. Autumn didn't seem to care for it though and quite frankly, if we stayed in the house every time it rained or wasn't sunny, we'd never leave the house!! Autumn kept saying she wanted to go back to the car or back home and then finally
She had a complete melt down. I felt really bad for Autumn while we were out there, but now that we are home and dry, this picture makes me laugh!
The trail was very nice. If we had wanted to take our jogger out on it, we could have easily done that.

There were several water crossings. We didn't see any fish though.
Sean had Autumn and I carried Emelia in my Moby Wrap. After looking around for about five minutes and checking out nature, Emelia
Totally fell asleep. She slept until we got home.
Autumn didn't really perk up until we got back to the car.
I highly recommend this trail/camping area- it's worth checking out. I think we may try to head back in the next few weeks and go camping out there. The only thing is, it is near a road and the traffic can be a little loud.
But the scenery is nice.
We stopped in to say hello to smokey the bear at the visitor center.
While there, we bumped into:
Chance and Alivia (Sean and Chance work together).
After the visitor center, we tried to get Autumn to cooperate with doing some more walking, but it was a no go. The girl was tired and cranky. She slept most of the way home. Once home, I caught Mr Penelope:
Laying down in/on my boppy pillow. What is wrong with that cat?
We ate some left overs for dinner, put on some comfortable clothes and watched the rain. While I was typing this up, a moose came right up to our window. Only in Alaska!! Speaking of only in Alaska, Sean's soft top still has holes in it and it is raining, but never fear.... Sean the manly handy man is here......
He conjured a quick fix with nothing other than............. you guessed it, DUCT TAPE!! That stuff really is the cure all.
The Jordan's.
