Dear God,

"Thank you for this best day ever. Thank you for letting my dad send me a picture of us from Afghan-stan. I love you. I love my dad."

Millie's prayer tonight on our way home from graduation.

She has barely let go of that picture of the two of you since she opened it.

I wish you could have seen her face light up the second she realized what it was.

She smiled so big and at first, she could not take her eyes off of you.

She looked lovingly at her photo and said, "I love my dad."

I'm not going to lie.

I cried.

I feel like a big baby.

Someone mentioned to me over the past week that someone else told them that military families don't serve.

Only the active duty person does.

Well to that person, I would love to say,

Our little girl had a huge milestone today.

She graduated from prekindergarten.

Without any doubt in my mind.

If Millie could have anything she asked for.

She would have asked for her dad to be there.

These are the moments where the sacrifice feels like too much.

These are the moments where my heart feels like it will leap out of my chest and on to the floor.

These are the moments that will forever write on the slate of who are children are and who they will become.

I have some videos to share with you, but that will have to wait until tomorrow.

Your current wife and favorite airman. xoxo

I am honored that I was able to attend this special celebration. I could not help but share in the tears with you.
Thank you for asking me to come. I just love you and your girls. We will all get through this time together and celebrate when our men are home again.

Love in Christ
