Callaway Days

This is a picture of my perfect tomatoes... before the birds got to them.

I'm so mad.

What is the point of these dumb cats if they let whatever creature they want in to our yard!!!!!!!

This morning, we loaded up the Jeep, loaded up lunch and headed to Callaway.

We parked at the Discovery center because for some reason, I could not figure out how to get over to the boat house. DOH!

It actually turned out to be a great little spot that was well shaded and we were pretty central to all the places we wanted to go.

The rule enforcer made me get off my bike to cross this bridge.

Our first stop was to find out what time the birds of prey show would be.

Next..

The "cultural" center, as Autumn calls it.

Photobomber!!!

It is hard to believe there is three years between them.

Seals.

I think this thing was a dog. If you look closely, it has eyes.

Uncle Julie.

I mustache you a question.

Next up was the butterfly center.

Autumn the butterfly whisperer (I kid, some really nice man, placed this butterfly in Autumn's hand).

Autumn named this butterfly diamond because it was so shimmery. When she tried to pass the butterfly off to Kaitlyn, it took off.

Sometimes, Kaitlyn looks extremely sad.

Autumn was in there enjoying the beauty of it all. She was singing the song Lavender Blue Dilly, Dilly.

My mini me.

The chicks.

The purple crepe myrtles are beautiful. I wish we had some.

I treated the girls to a butterfly necklace.

Next up, the birds of prey.

We've all seen this show several times now, but each time, we learn something different.

Autumn loved it, but I have to tell you, it was 1230 now and it was HOT and there was NO shade.

After the show, we hung out at the Jeep and ate our lunch.

Then we went over to the beach and parked where we always park.

Guess what I see?

A maroon minivan.

I go and look at the back of it....

Triplets on board.

Great.

We change and head out to the water and were spotted immediately.

I placed my things next to Jennifer's things and head out to the water to swim and talk with them.

When I get out to them, Jennifer leaves and goes and sits down.

I stay out in the water for awhile, playing and splashing around with the kids.

I talked with Violet about her birthday because it was this past week.

She is four now.

I get out of the water and go and sit on my towel, near Jennifer and she heads back out to the water.

I guess if I cared enough, I would be offended, but by her leaving each time I get near, she is doing me a favor.

HA HA HA!!!

So I curl up to a good book.

I rather enjoyed myself.

We stayed until nearly 5 pm.

We loaded up and headed home.

We did homemade pizza for dinner.

I intended to do spaghetti, but after getting home so late, we will do spaghetti tomorrow.

I'm going to make the meatballs up in the morning.

Autumn checked the mail and handed me this:

This is from the Air Force and contains a certificate of completion for something about a manager (or something like that). What the hell? Doesn't the Air Force know your name by now?

The certificate does have YOUR actual name on it....

I love you.

Your current wife and favorite airman. xoxo
