A is for Alligator.
I realized last night that the A/C still wasn't turning off (or shall I say the fan). It made me worry that those heat strips were back on, so rather than worry about the house getting really hot, I just flipped the breaker. I called them this morning and Nick came back out. He said he accidentally wired the fan to be "on" all the time. He told me he was sorry and he felt like an idiot that the heat must have got to him. He spent at least an hour in our attic, so I know he was telling me the truth. Anyway, he found another leak on the other unit and the total cost is going to be over $2 grand to fix (when you factor in the repairs from the last two days). I called up to schedule the maintenance to be done and I'm waiting for a return phone call. I suspect it will go down in the next week or two.
It would be lovely if they could do it next week since a cold front is moving in on Saturday/Sunday and dropping the temperatures to mid/low 80's.
On to other business.
On our way to school this morning.
It was show and tell for the letter A. Autumn brought: an Apple, her Alaska hoodie (Autumn said that Miss Kari explained to the class that Autumn was born and lived there!), AND
Little John the Alligator.
Just as random as it happens throughout the day, this is a random thought of Autumn's.
I miss you daddy.
She says it frequently, to thin air.
Millie brought a book about animals for show and tell today. Get ready for some Millie Artwork.
I think the teacher must have done that because I would be very shocked if Millie could stay in the lines like that.
A gift Millie gave your mom. There is another one just like it for pool house grandma.
Now for Autumn artwork.
The girls are so proud to show off what they did in school. I feel like I have to take pictures of it and share it with you because it is so important to them. Autumn showed me this and then said she couldn't remember the guys name. I said, Johnny Appleseed and Autumn flipped out. "mom, you are so smart! How did you know that? That is what Miss Kari said too."
A is for Apple.
In your inbox, I scanned the notes their teachers sent. I don't think the whole world needs to see those.
The last bit of artwork brought home today was this:
Something about it really disturbs me. The girls have been "wearing" that thing around the house and then leaving it in random places. Sometimes they'll walk up to you with it over their face and it just looks really creepy. When it is out on the floor like that, it makes me think of a crime scene outline. Shudder! My two notes on this thing are the following: 1. Did they break Millie's arm when they traced her? 2. Where is her crooked eye?
Still trying to recover from being ill. I decided NOT to workout today. I think I am feeling better, but my head hurts really bad. Hoping for a really good night of sleep tonight. I think I really need it.
I love you and miss you very much.
Your current wife and favorite airman. xoxo
The count: 76 days of missing you.
