An odd day.
After dropping Autumn off to school, Millie and I came home to work on
Putting the Halloween decorations away. Some stuff needed to be washed, so I am compiling it all in one place. I will likely get it moved to boxes on Wednesday, while BOTH girls are at school.
Welcoming back my Monday routine of cleaning the kitchen and all the floors. Boy, did it need it too.
After doing the housework, I got caught up on a few shows. Millie watched Barney.
We headed back up to school to grab Autumn and I noticed as soon as she walked out of school that she wasn't wearing her own clothes. I asked Ms Keri about this immediately. Ms Keri said that Autumn had an accident at school today and that she required a change of clothes. I informed Ms Keri that the clothes Autumn had on were not hers. Ms Keri said she didn't know who the clothes belonged to, Ms Daisy changed Autumn.
Once we got home, I asked Autumn what happened. She wouldn't tell me much at first but said that she had a huge accident, so big that Ms Daisy had to clean the floor. I pulled Autumn's soiled clothes out and there was "accident" all over everything. I noticed the name of another student in the class on the plastic bag. I asked Autumn why she didn't tell Ms Daisy these clothes didn't belong to her. She said, "I like these clothes. They are mine now."
So in a strange turn of events, I needed to call the mother of the child the clothes belong to. We are going to their house on Saturday for a birthday party. I was feeling very humiliated about the whole thing, but I didn't know what to do. I told her that I would wash the clothes, discard the panties and replace with new ones. It really icked me out that Autumn had on someone else's clothes and I know that I wouldn't want the panties returned to me if the situation was reverse. The other mom was extremely understanding and told me not to worry about the panties, just to toss them and return the clothes.
A few hours later, Autumn had another accident. This time, I will admit it, I got angry. Enough is enough. I don't know if this is an attention thing and no, it isn't lost on me that today was her first day back to school since you left, but seriously, I have standards and they do not include fecal matter in the pants. I made Autumn clean herself and her panties, then I tore her chore chart up. I told her all the stickers she had earned so far this week are gone. She cried.
After some time passed, Autumn and I had a talk. I think I was able to reason with the girl. She will still not tell me why she had accidents today, but she did say she would do better. I told her I was sorry for getting angry, that it wasn't right and it was not very nice of me to tear up her chore chart. I have printed off a new one for her and told her that she would still need to start all over on her chore chart.
I didn't have very many pictures to share from today, so I will share some from while you were here.
Ridiculous!!
You and Autumn cooking together.
The final product. Coq au vin.
A lunch date with Millie.
Sweet girl. She is still talking to you like you are right here.
Still one of my top 10 pictures of you!
So our plans have changed a bit this week. Tomorrow is supposed to rain, so no park. We were supposed to go with Angie to a movie this weekend and that was cancelled (family stuff came up for them). I think that we will go and see Hotel Transylvania tomorrow. I've been meaning to take the girls to that for a while. We will hit up the park on Friday.
Your mom is going with me to Millie's next eye appointment this week and I also called DW and corrected the spelling of Millie's name and made sure they got our deposit. They did.
I love you and miss you.
Your current wife and favorite airman. xoxo
The count: 118 and 3 dreary November rains without you.
