Cooper Creek
We've been having a rough time. I hate to even say that to you when I know that your little "camping" trip is probably the real rough time, but the girls and I have just not been feeling well at all.
Millie slept with me again last night and as you know, no one sleeps well when Millie is in the bed. This is like the third or fourth night of really bad sleeping for me and the girls.
This morning when we all climbed out of bed, I could tell it was going to be a nice day. We all sat around watching cartoons and eating breakfast, then I did my insanity workout. Shortly after that, I was trying to get everybody dressed so we could head out for the day.
The Fresh Market had a bunch of wines on sale, today only, so I knew for sure I wanted to hit that up. We had a bunch of old bread to get rid of too, so I thought to myself, I'll go grab some wine from TFM, hit McD's for some happy meals, then we'll go throw bread at the geese. That is when pandimonium struck. Autumn threw such a fit. She said to me, "I just want to stay home and take a little nap." I knew it wasn't even worth trying to get out the door when Millie started crying too. By 10 am, Millie fell asleep and at 11 am, Autumn followed suit.
By 2 pm, both the girls were still asleep. Autumn looked so pale. I knew better than to wake the girl, so once Millie started stirring, I knew it wouldn't be long. I finally wrestled clothes on the girl and put her in the car all the while she was crying she didn't want to go and I told her fine, she could stay in the car, but that Millie and I wanted to enjoy the sunshine (wine).
I picked up the wine, the Happy Meals and we made it over to the park. Autumn didn't like how long it was taking me to figure out where we wanted to eat, but once we parked and got out of the car, she was fine! Thank goodness!
A little bit of swinging cured her ills.
I had to make Millie get off this swing, she kept letting go and that really scares me! Just so you know, she asked for you over and over. I know it is because I just don't push the swing as high as you do!
Aha! There is my angel.
A true testament to my OCD. My girls, cleaning the slide. All the other children are playing, some were even placing the dirt on the slides! Autumn and Millie, were cleaning them.
After a bit of playing, we sat at a table and they ate their happy meals.
Millie doesn't exactly know what she is doing with a happy meal though. A My little pony came with the meal and Autumn handed Millie hers and what does the girl do with it? She dipped the pony's leg in the bbq sauce and tried to eat it. Autumn was dying laughing telling her, "no baby, you aren't supposed to eat it! You just hold it and play with it!" Too funny.
After eating we made our way on the trail to look for the geese. Autumn had to run to the very end of that thing, I guess just to scare me.
Thank goodness Millie didn't do it too!
I got a lot of dirty looks for letting the girls get so close to the geese, but everything turned out just fine.
I'm not sure if the geese would have stayed so close to Autumn if I had been over there too. I wasn't far away, but I let the girl have some space. I think the geese knew she didn't mean them any harm. I kept the bread with me though. I could totally see a goose making a move on a little girl with a handful of bread!
So that was our day in a nut shell. Everyone is tired again. I hope that whatever this thing is we have, that it goes away soon. I want to have my happy little angels back!
I miss you and hope that you are sleeping better under the stars.
