Goal!

Yesterday was Autumn's first soccer practice. We got there just a little bit early, so we were having fun in the JEEP (proof that I did start it, plus what kind of a mom drives a car to soccer?).

The vehicle was not in motion, so no comments in regards to the lack of seat belts.

Lining up. Autumn was the shortest kid on her team. From what I could tell, she was the youngest one too! I'm guessing that has more to do with it than anything else. About ten minutes later, Autumn turns to me and says, "Mom, I don't want to play soccer anymore!" The other mom's started laughing, but I knew she was just cold. Once she started warming up, she did just fine and she had so much fun.

Millie and I set up our stuff on the side to watch, but Millie was cheering Autumn on and kept trying to participate in the practice. She even went as far as to run out on the field and grab Autumn around the waist when Autumn wouldn't acknowledge her. Autumn turned around and pointed her finger and said, "get back to your chair baby!" It was pretty funny. I'll need to do a better job of keeping Millie out of the way for next practice.

You see the girl running behind Autumn? They started in the same place at the same time. I guess being little has its advantages sometimes!

Autumn taking her turn going around the cones, dribbling the ball.

She was a little slow, but she did really good. Can I also just say that Autumn was the only girl that wasn't touching the ball with her hands. The boys got that concept down pretty good, but ALL of those girls save Autumn were placing the ball where they wanted it and Autumn was able to do that with her feet.

Heading back.

She did really well.

Taking her shot at the goal. My last brag on Autumn was that she was the only kid out there who kicked the ball straight. They lined up across from each other and were kicking the ball to one another and Autumn was seriously the only one who could aim the ball directly at her partner! I was very proud of her. Of course a few times Autumn missed the ball (it went directly between her legs!), it was a lot of fun to watch. I wish I could remember the coaches names, but I forgot them! One of them told me they emailed you about a week ago, could you check and forward it to me if you got it?

This is how the trees look. Can you see the little buds? Spring is springing without you.

I miss you so much!
