A Sweet Friend.
June 10th, 2011 at Alaska Botanical Gardens. We said goodbye to Jenny, Izzy and Isaac. It was a sad, but exciting day.
I recently discovered that from where Jenny was visiting her family to our house was 8 hours. I told her we should drive halfway and see each other. I'm so glad we did. I think it was a good way to remind Autumn that just because we may not see people all the time, doesn't mean that they are not still around. That in this life we live, it is possible to say see you later and actually see you later.
Before we met up with Jenny and her crew, we had some time to kill in Alabama.
We made our way to Mehear State Park and although small, it was totally worth the $1 I spent there.
Why are they so interested in sitting in the trunk? Do you notice who has Roww? I think Autumn has been carrying that doddle cat around because you gave it to her.
To say that Autumn was not happy about this trail would be an understatement. It must have rained the day before because it was ever so slightly damp. Autumn's description of this trail, "it is wet, and muddy and smells like poo poo. I don't like it."
Admittedly, it was a little stinky, but it really wasn't that muddy.
She was cracking me up with her anger towards this trail.
Is something happening?
Once we made it to the boardwalk, Autumn cheered right up!
One of the first thing Autumn spots is this "alligator." It made me laugh so hard. She was completely convinced that this was a real alligator.
Autumn bottom.
Trying to get a picture of us three chicks.
Pretending to be cats, or dogs.... I am not sure!
I like to be dangerous!
Cheese boardwalk.
Kisses.
I just liked this picture of square pants.
Crazy face.
We found this, empty, but Autumn insisted on carrying it around referring to it as her "egg" and told me she was warming it up for someone else to pick it as its home.
Hello roww!
Wildlife.
After our nature walk, we headed over to the playground.
Millie attempts this wall every time we encounter one, but today....
For the first time, she made it to the top.
Can you tell she was proud of herself?
After playtime, we headed over to the USS Alabama.
We walked around outside and in the gift shop waiting for Jenny to arrive.
This is where I will stop for today. I have more pictures to share with you, but for now, I have to get a fire going, laundry moved around and two girls fed some dinner.
I love you and I miss you so much.
Your current wife and favorite airman. xoxo
The count: 118 and 64 days of reconnecting with military friends without you. Look how everyone has grown. Autumn is hiding behind me.....
