Just spit it out!
Autumn has been having a rough time the last few days. I could tell that she didn't want to tell you how she was feeling and I usually do not like to push the issue with her, but I could tell, she just needed to get it out.
When she told you this morning that she misses you and she misses Walden, she had tears in her eyes. It made me cry. I don't know why that was so hard for her to say, she says it to me often. It seems like she has conflicting feelings about you being away. Sometimes she seems like she is mad about it and other times she seems just plain sad about it.
I try to think about things from her point of view and now that 7 months have passed by, it makes me think that it must feel like eternity when you are four years old.
Then poor Millie asking you if you were home this morning. That nearly tore my heart up as well.
What I can say is that the rest of the day, I did not have one single problem with Autumn. She was quite well behaved and very kind after getting her feelings off her chest.
What I have for you today is mostly videos.
Millie and I have been working on her symbols for her eye chart.
This first one is with no glasses at close range. Now while I was conducting the test, I did not notice Autumn's commentary. I was concentrating on what Millie was saying, so if you did the same thing, go back and listen to Autumn's input!!! It made me laugh!!! Especially her comment about the house.
This is the eye test with glasses on, close range.
Right eye covered. She struggled a little with this one.
Left eye covered. I noticed with this one that Millie's eye looks like it is looking at the camera and not the card. How one earth does she see like that? I also observed that she did much better than at the eye doctor's office, but again, this was still very close. The eye test at the doctors office was much further away. I don't know what the standard is but my guess is from the chair to the door is at least 7 feet.
Autumn needed a turn too.
About the Autumn video... Did you notice that the one word Autumn got wrong, "RAT" I asked her "what letter does that start with" and Autumn shouts out "Rat", but Millie says, "No, R." We have two very smart and talented kids.
Now, if the specialist on Monday says that Millie still does not know these symbols, I may punch her in the face!
I did two workouts today. Pure Cardio and Cardio recovery. I did not want to miss a workout day tomorrow while traveling so I went on and got it out of the way tonight. I just knew I would not want to get up and do it before getting on the road.
I am such a procrastinator and have not even packed yet. That is totally unlike me, but I am going to get on it when I get off here.
Autumn always leaves me little surprises around the house. This one makes me laugh and I cannot even explain why.
We watched Dumbo today. When is the last time you saw that movie? That movie is whack! I mean I have not watched it since I was a child. I think someone was smoking crack cocaine when they made that movie. Of course, the children loved it! I did not remember that Dumbo's actual name was Jumbo. Autumn kept referring to Dumbo as Jumbo and Millie told Autumn, "Dumbo was not Jumbo, but a baby elephant." They had a big fight about it and Autumn said, "I can call him whatever I want." It made me laugh.
Anyway, guess I should get off here and go get the packing done. I think I will shave since I am going to be getting in the pool! I don't want to harm anyone with my beastly legs!!!
I love you and I miss you. If you are able to talk tomorrow, be sure to call my cellphone. I plan to be on the road by 8 am.
