A Free Movie.
Autumn and I were able to attend a free movie at the post theater. This is the schedule (for any of my Ft Richardson/Elmo friends).
If you need to know where it is, shoot me an email. We brought our own drinks and popcorn and had a great time!
Autumn chilling waiting for dinner.
She looks like a sweetheart doesn't she?
Talking on the phone.
After dinner, we made some Chocolate Holiday Bark. My mom stole the recipe from a Southern Living Magazine. I haven't tried them yet, but they look good.
1 cup of pecans (toast for 8 minutes at 350 degrees). 3- 4 oz bars of bittersweet chocolate baking bars (I used Ghiradelli 60% Cacao Bittersweet) 3- 4 oz bars of white chocolate. 3/4 tsp Kosher salt (or 1 tsp of Sea Salt). You will need a baking sheet, parchment paper, a wooden pick and a wire rack.
Preheat oven to 225. Line your baking pan with parchment paper. Break each chocolate bar into 8 equal pieces. Arrange in a checkerboard pattern on your baking pan alternating dark and white chocolate.
Bake at 225 for 5 minutes or until just melted. Remove to a wire rack. Swirl chocolates into a marble pattern using wooden pick.
Sprinkle evenly with toasted pecans and salt.
Chill in the fridge for at least one hour. Break into pieces. Store in airtight container in refrigerator for up to one month.
I am told they taste really good. I will have to review it for you tomorrow.
Today is the winter solstice. We had 5 hours and 27 minutes of daylight today. After today though, we will add minutes every day of daylight until we get 24 hours of daylight this summer. This very well may be my favorite day of the year. I know the days are getting longer and summer is around the corner!
Check this out. You remember sweet Autumn picture from above.... WELL:
Look at that evil grin!!!!!!!!
