There is something missing.
It is Christmas Eve. The table is set.
Our friends are all there- I put the Christmas cards up on the sill and the pictures we got in the mail, on the windows.
BUT, something is amiss........
There is an empty chair.
A food-less plate, an empty glass. It is you. There is hope for me and Autumn yet!
I guess it doesn't matter where your place setting is at, Autumn wants to sit there! And even though I'm sad and missing you something awful, how can I not smile at this photo!!!
I put the food out. We had ham, sweet potatoes, green beans, crescent rolls and sparkling wine!
I think Autumn's drink went straight to her head!!!!! She took her straw out and thought maybe her spoon would work better. I didn't stop her, she seemed to be having a good time. It was the first time at the dinner table this evening that she stopped shouting daddy!
I told Autumn to say hi, but she was looking off the wrong direction!
After dinner, I was washing the china and doing the dishes when I hear this evil chuckle. I look over the counter and what do I see:
But Autumn being bad, as bad as can be!!!!!!! She likes the Christmas cards and she especially enjoys the photos. That is Aunt Carolyn and Uncle Don.
The last supper photo.
Time to get dressed up for church.
Let's try this photo again Autumn.
I guess that is as good as it is going to get. Do you see Autumn's stocking? Autumn knows there is candy in it (Miniature M&M's, so it has to go up high to keep her out of it!).
Sweet girl!
Off to church we go. We went to the Post Chapel. Autumn behaved pretty good. At one point though, they were lighting a candle and it was kind of quiet in the church, Autumn passed gas!!!! It was loud. Everyone around me was trying to so hard not to bust out laughing that their bodies were shaking. I was having a hard time myself. When Autumn felt me laughing, she started laughing. Needless to say, I was completely embarrassed! To top things off, they had real candles they passed out to everyone. Autumn was holding ours (while it was lit) and the whole time I was terrified she was going to catch one or both of us on fire. She was staring at the flame and completely mesmerized by it. Then, to my surprise, she accidentally blew the candle out and was completely distraught about it, so we relight it and she was a happy camper again. Once we got home, Autumn was allowed to open one gift.
She did pretty good with it. A LOT better than last year!
She really enjoys her Dora the Explorer book.
All that is left to do this evening is put on our pj's and make the hot chocolate.
Oh how Autumn loves some hot chocolate!
Giving my angel girl a kiss.
We had a nice evening and very much enjoyed our hot chocolate. I wish you could be here with us.
Your favorite wife and airman. xoxo
