Tampa

I made a decision. We are headed to Tampa in the morning. I'm going to drop Max off with your dad. Your current wife and favorite airman. XOXO 55 days.

Walking on Fire.

This morning I went for a little run. This little run brings my monthly total up to 50 miles. I know I've actually done a lot more than 50, but "officially" this is 50! It was kind of nice out this morning, so after running and making pancakes, I got to mowing the grass. Once I finished that, I got to work on the fence again. Before. After. Before. After. While pressure washing, I had a yellow jacket land on my leg, near my ankle. I was holding a pressure washer gun... You know what I did right? OK, so it hurt a little, but not as bad as a yellow jacket sting. I've decided I'm not doing a second round of pressure washing on these parts. It will get sealed as you see it now. Unless a week from now it looks really bad or something. I only have one section of fence left to pressure wash. The part between our house and Sylvester's. Depending on what we decide to do tomorrow, I might finish that tomorrow. I plan to do all the

Pool party!

This morning I had a 10 am appointment with an adivsor. At 9 am she called me. "Mrs. Jordan- you have 181 transfer credit hours. 63 of them are core credit hours, like English, Math and Science. Your situation is unique and needs to be handled by someone in the biology department. No one in academic advising can help you with this particular situation." She gave me the number to the secretary to the chair of the biology department. I called and left a message with her. She called me back promptly and told me, "Mrs. Jordan, I left a note on DR. Ballenger's door. She is currently in class. You should expect a call back at some point today. With all your credit hours, I went ahead and assigned DR Ballenger, the department chair as your personal advisor. You are only the second student that has ever had Dr Ballenger as their direct advisor. She is going to have to evaluate your credit hours anyway, I figured I should just go on and assign you to her.&

I hate the news.

I went to Ft Benning and requested my shot records. They will call me once they receive and transcribe them. The guy said it would be at least a few days. I went over to the Soldier For Life Center. I needed to have a VA representative certify my VA entitlements. When we walked in the door, at the center of the room was a big screen TV. It was desert looking, with billowy black smoke on the TV. My heart skipped a beat. They showed a gun fight. Autumn flipped out. Is that my dad? Is that in Afghanistan. I'm reading the ticker as fast as I can. It isn't Afghanistan. It is Iraq. I guess there is some intense fighting happening over an oil refinery. I tell Autumn. We all breathe a sigh of relief. "I hate Afghanistan," Millie says. Oh baby, me too. The first person I see is a counselor with the education center. I have all my paperwork. I tell her I need a VA certifying official. Commense the arguing. These aren't your benefits,

Forgetfulness.

It turned out that we did have something to do today. The girls both liked their new coaches. Millie liked that she got to do new things too. I'm so impressed with Autumn. She looms so natural out there. I noticed her coach is forcing her to work on her form. He also wants them to build their core muscles. I think we will do some short workouts together over the summer. I've been working on the wood floor some. That spot I thought was a chipped board, was just gum or something. I'm kind of relieved. Well, I'm off to bed. It's been a long day. Your current wife and favorite airman. XOXO 51 days.

Birds and such.

This morning the girls had their well checks. Did you know that Tricare doesn't cover hearing tests for children over the age of 5.... Autumn did great on her hearing test and vision test. Her iron was 13.7. She is 47 inches (25th percentile) tall and weighs 47 pounds (25th percentile). Autumn has stayed on that 25th percentile curve since she turned 4. I wasn't surprised that she lost weight. She recently grew an inch. She has been eating like crazy. I imagine she will put it back on soon. Dr Iris gave me a note for school about her lactose intolerance so that Autumn can have water when she does school lunch. Millie's hearing was good. She could not read the 20/20 line on the vision chart. She read two lines above that although she could pick out some letters from the line directly above the 20/20 line. They seemed a little concerned about it, but I assured them we will be seeing the eye doctor in June. Millie was 43.5 inches (50th percentile) tall.

Of keys and pinecones.

This afternoon, I was taking a little break and watching some food network, when I received a call from Alice. She asked me what I was doing and I think it surprised her when I said watching TV. Anyway, she invited me to dinner at her house. Ribs sounded so much better than leftover spaghetti. While there, Alice gave Millie a birthday gift. It is a key to the special secret door Millie has been looking for. Remember when Millie made you go in the attic?? The secret door has rainbows, glitter and unicorns, so Millie is desperate to find it. As I was tucking Millie in, I noticed the box Alice gave her. I looked inside to find that Millie has stolen a potpourri pinecone from Alice's house!! We have well checks at 9 am tomorrow. Those usually run 1 to 2 hours long. I love you. Your current wife and favorite airman. XOXO 49 Days of waiting for you.

The aftermath.

The aftermath of a fun filled day of pool partying is a messy house and some worn out chicks. We never left the house or even made it out of PJs. Millie napped for four hours. I'm off to bed. Your current wife and favorite airman. XOXO 48 days.

Millie's birthday bash!!
