Getting over the flu.

Image
We have been pretty much held hostage in our home by the evil flu!! We have been slowly making our way out into the public arena, but I don't want to spread the flu around and I certainly do not want Autumn to contract any other diseases!!!! Anyway, Autumn is doing much better. No more fever, her eating has finally picked back up, and besides a slight cough and a snotty nose, she is almost back to 100 percent savagery. Speaking of savagery, what is it about the father-child relationship that fosters so much...... I don't know what the word is. Rough housing would be close, but not quite. Autumn abuses Sean in ways she would never think of abusing me. For example: Autumn likes to play this little game.... While climbing up onto that coffee table, she suddenly remembered that she forgot something. She climbed back down, covered Sean's face with her blanket, that way when she climbed back up on the coffee table, he would have no idea what he was in for. JUMP!!!!!! WOW

Where to begin?

I know, I know... I was supposed to post yesterday, but it has been such a hectic week. Where does one start?? When Sean and I left Anchorage on Monday, Alyeska bound we had no idea what was in store for us. Once we got to the resort, I noticed that Autumn didn't look quite right. She was pale and I blew it off thinking it was the lighting (it was pretty gray outside). Once we got inside though, I knew something was up. Sean had to wait in a long line for the free skiing and Autumn and I hung out at a table. She was cuddling me and just looked tired and was still very pale. I kept trying to put sickness out of my mind though and said that it was nap time, maybe she was just tired. Sean went "skiing," ON THE BUNNY SLOPE (singular), while Autumn, myself and several spectators watched, trying not to bust a gut. Sean nearly took a fence out and it looked like he was going to smash right into an eight year old. Once Sean got a little ski on, we decided to check in to

On our way

To Girdwood. I had photos to share today, but I am unable to locate the camera at this time. Hopefully it turns up before we get on the road. We've picked out a crib and bedding for new human's room, now just to buy it. I Hope to have tons of pictures for you when we get back from our trip to Alyeska.

A little curry.

Boy have we been eating well since Sean returned home. I could fill up a paper with a list of all the food I'd love to have Sean cook us! Tonight we had chicken curry. No, not from a restaurant or mass produced and from a jar, but Sean made it. It was so delicious that I wish I could just eat it all! Autumn enjoyed the chicken and ate some of the chapati bread, but the couscous seemed to gross her out. At least she tried it and quite frankly, I recall the first time I tried couscous, it grossed me out too. Funny when I think back on it, now I love it. Of course our meal looked a little different than Autumn's: How did I ever live without this food!! Our chicken curry was served a'top said couscous and garnished with cilantro and Cucumber Raita. If I wasn't pregnant, I think I could have eaten all of it! So, besides eating well, what is going on in the Jordan household? Well, we recently put a lock on Autumn's door to prevent her from escaping her room at ni

A New Life.

I'd like to congratulate my youngest sister, Devonne, on the birth of her daughter- Taylor Renee. Taylor was born today at 4:37 PM EST, weighing 7 lbs 3 oz's and she was 19 inches long. Taylor is just as beautiful as her mother and looks like a replica of her older brother Cole. It is moments like this that make me miss my family so much. Congratulations Devonne. I love you and miss you dearly! Your big sister! PS On a completely unrelated note, I will be updating my blog on Monday's and Thursday's for awhile- we will see how that works out!! Don't want to leave my readers in a lurch! ha ha ha

You can never have too many friends.

We are adjusting to life since Sean came home almost a week ago. Sleeping schedules are getting better (Autumn hasn't been sneaking into our room the last two nights- thank goodness!!), Sean is sleeping until 5 am now. Autumn still gets upset when Sean walks out of the room, she starts hollering, "Come back". One of the days that Sean had to go to work, Autumn got in one of our closets, cried for awhile and refused to come out. She is slowly starting to realize I think that daddy is home for good. Everyone that knows Autumn really well knows that she has an entourage. I've talked about it before. She requires a multitude of stuffed animals to go to bed with, cuddle downstairs with, etc. Yesterday morning, I walked downstairs and saw this: All of Autumn's friends/blankets in the chair with her. From another angle, there is barely any room for her!! She doesn't look to upset about it though. Autumn and I have been really enjoying Sean being home- he is of

Happy, Happy!

Autumn has been walking around saying happy, happy! We are having a wonderful time catching back up with Sean. Now if we could just get Sean on a normal sleeping schedule! Autumn has been sticking to Sean like glue, she still gets concerned if he walks out of eye sight, but that is slowly getting better. Those two are definitely making up for lost time! I felt a little bad about Sean having to shovel when he got home from Afghanistan, but!!!!! At least he had some help! Well, sort of! Maybe it was more like someone cheering him on! She is so happy!! You talking to me? As many of you know, we didn't really celebrate Autumn's birthday, we were waiting for Sean to get home. Happy Birthday Autumn!! Blowing out the candles. Cutting the cake. Taking a big ol' bite! Is there anything sweeter than my two favorite people taking a nap together?? Why do the cats look so mad that I'm taking a picture? Sean goes back to work tomorrow for a few days, then he will be off for aw
