One picture.

I believe this one photo sums up our vacation from Alaska. Sun dress, sandals, sunglasses and a Tinker Bell purse. Your Favorite wife and airman. xoxo The Count: 29 days.

Went to see the lights today.

Image
It was 72 degrees here today. I didn't bring any shorts!! Autumn wore short sleeves and pants, but I had to keep a close eye on her, she kept getting red in the face. She is really starting to come around to Grandpa. After some playtime, we made our way over to James Island County Park. That is Cole in the background poaching in on mine and Autumn's photo! We took a really fun train ride and because it was in the upper 50's, Autumn and I were quite comfortable- not cold at all. Changing the colors of the lights on the Christmas trees. Autumn wasn't getting a good enough view, so Grandma and Grandpa opened the moon roof and before you know it, Autumn was standing with her head out of the car. She loved it. She was oohhinng and ahhhing and pointing and saying everything. Tree, Ho, Ho, Ho, Deer... Overall, just a very good time. NEWS: Autumn now says the word "Candy"... Thanks mom! Also, she is currently cutting four teeth. I'm assuming that is why she

We took the grandchildren to Olan Mills for a photography session. Can we say FAIL? Autumn cried the ENTIRE time. Lets not even talk about what happened when she saw Santa Claus at the mall. She cried and her whole body started shaking with fear. I almost cried it was so sad. Anyway, once we got home, I took some of my own photos. Knock, knock. Is any one going to let me in? I think this one might be my favorite. Those are the shoes that she loves and cries if you take them off. Tinker Bell purse. She peeked around the corner and then shouted, "Oh!" Taking it one step at a time. So dainty. Daddy's little girl. I miss you. Your Favorite Wife and Airman. xoxo The Count: 27 days.

My birthday.

Today was my birthday. I'm trying to remember the last time I got to spend my birthday with you- so far, I got nothing!! I had a good, mostly uneventful day. Autumn is cutting another tooth. Other than that, not much going on. Your Favorite Wife and Airman. xoxo The count: 26 days.

Turkey day.

Image
I cooked the turkey. I have never cooked a turkey before. Hopefully no one gets sick in the next 24 hours. It tasted good, I'm going to take that as a good sign. Before I get to turkey day pictures, Autumn was conducting some sort of business meeting at my mom's house. Not sure who besides Autumnn was attending the meeting, but she looked pretty serious. OK, on to the turkey. So I know it doesn't exactly look appetizing, but it was good. My niece Jordan (yep that was one of Autumn's shirts). Cole had the right idea. Kaitlyn. Not really sure what Autumn and Kaitlyn were talking about, but Autumn had her first ever lollipop and she LOVED it. Pregnant Devonne and silly Cole. My igloo birthday cake. No one remembered the candle(s) and is it a big surprise I don't know how old I am! Blowing out the "candle". Autumn enjoyed the icing. So much, she wouldn't even let me eat my own piece of cake. I missed you today. I cried a little bit. I want you home.

Having fun.

It has been rainy here. If I had brought Autumn's rain boots or even her snow boots, I'd take her out in it. Rain doesn't bother her and she has been dying to go outside. Instead, we went to Chic Fil A (one of my favorite places). Unfortunately, Autumn didn't hardly eat anything, but she did have fun. My mom got Autumn a Tinker Bell purse and she LOVES it. She won't let it go. Heaven forbid another child try to touch it, or even look at it, she will whack them upside the head with it and it is a tin!! She loves going down the slide. Sorry they are a little blurry, but can you tell she is having a great time with her cousins. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and even though I'm with my family, I still miss you. I get teary eyed thinking about you being without any family on Thanksgiving and probably without turkey. We are going to be preparing/eating dinner at Devonne's while my mom is at work. Neither Devonne, Sarah or myself have EVER cooked a turkey. Kind

Adjusting.

The time zone change is killing me. Autumn wants to sleep until like 11 in the morning, then to get her to bed at a decent time at night is impossible. We are preparing for Thanksgiving. We've been doing some light cooking. We went over to Devonne's house, moved some furniture around and helped put up her Christmas tree. Autumn loves spending time with her cousins. She cries when they leave (or if she does). That is Jordan in the high chair, Kaitlyn sitting next to Autumn, Cole across from her. They were eating cookies- Grandma loves to give Autumn cookies! As a matter of fact, when I was in the shower this morning, Autumn crawled under my mom's bed to hide from her. When I got out the shower my mom calls out to me and says Autumn is stuck under the bed. I pop my head out from behind the bathroom door to see my mom trying to lure Autumn out from under the bed with Animal crackers! It was pretty funny!! It didn't work by the way. Autumn has been saying daddy

It's warm.

The high today was 65. We are hot!! It feels nice though, I cannot complain. Autumn took straight to my dad and is still a bit stand offish towards my mom. It is kind of humorous. We haven't done much today, just trying to recover from our flight. I hope tomorrow we can get out and stretch our legs a bit. Your mom and dad have been calling for your address. Do you have/know one yet? If so, please email it to me soon. I love you and miss you. I've been meaning to tell you about this. One night Mr Travis and Autumn had a little too much milk to drink and Autumn came out with this: Did you see it? Here is a close up. A spiderman tattoo. You know how Autumn freaks out about stuff on her hand? Well on her arm is no exception. She started to cry about it on there, so Mr Travis fixed it by covering it up with her sleeve. Problem solved! SO after about a week, several baths with scrubbing, that thing is still on there. Hope we can get it off before Christmas pictures o

We made it!!!

We were able to get a hop to Charleston today. I must say, military flights are better than civilian flights for several reasons. There were 11 people on our flight (out of 54 available seats)- that is less germs. It took less than 5 hours to fly from Cali to SC- you could NEVER do that commercially. Here are some photos. The layover at Travis was rough Sean. We got to sleep for 12 hours, watch a movie, enjoy 50 degree weather and chill out! Can't you tell by Autumn's face (or her hair for that matter), it was REALLY rough! It was weird that we didn't need snow boots, or snow pants, or coats even. Everything was so green. We just had to stop to smell the roses! Once we got to the Terminal, Autumn and I hung out in the "dependent" lounge (USO). Autumn took a little nap there and I was very grateful for the opportunity to spend the afternoon in there. It was nice. Once we went through security, there was a vending machine (thank goodness because there wasn&#

Going back to Cali.

Autumn and I made it to Travis Air Force Base (San Fransisco/Fairfield area) this evening. We were only in the air for about 4.5 hours, but I feel like it was all day. We did not get the luxury that my friend Gloria did with wide open spaces on our C17. There were very large vehicle(s) and other cargo- no stretch out room for us. We did however make it to California for $4.25 (the cost of our meal). We are dehydrated (they only gave us one bottle of water) and tired, so going to bed shortly. I'm told we have a good chance of making the Charleston flight tomorrow. I love you and hope all is well in the Stan. I know I look terrible, but what can I say! Your favorite wife and airman. xoxo The Count: 20 Days without you. PS It is freaking hot here. 50 degrees, we were stripping off clothes (by we, I mean everyone on our plane from Alaska!).

A few words.

Autumn and I are still attempting to get out of here. Let me just say this about our experience. Cherish + 4 am, Autumn + 5 am = 2 unhappy women! Maybe tomorrow. Miss you tons. Your Favorite Wife and Airman. xoxo The Count: 19 Days without you.

A belly full of jelly.

I felt like Santa Claus. Miss you. Your Favorite Wife and Airman. xoxo The Count: 18 Days.

Feels like I'm losing my mind.

I know it was at some point this week that you called, but I feel like I haven't talked to you in forever. I am constantly checking my email and the phones to make sure I haven't missed something from you. I'm going to have to take a step back from the computer for a few weeks. I cannot tell you the amount of disappointment I feel when I see a new message in my inbox only to discover it isn't from you! I just cannot stand it anymore!!!!! SO, enough of that. On to bigger and better things. Autumn and I went to the scary diamond center mall. Yes, I was packing! I wanted to go to The Perfect Cup for soup and salad and I'm glad we did. It was a nice lunch. Forgive the blurriness of this photo, but does that form remind you of someone we know? Speaking of Aunt Julie, she is in the "upper" 48 now with your mom and dad. She'll be there a couple of days before heading to Disney World! I'm so jealous! Not sure what was so interesting about that

You know I've been looking for a step stool for Autumn. Well today I finally purchased one. I got it at Target. Here is what it looks like: Autumn loves it. She pushed it over to the counter and grabbed the mail and my wallet, she then sat on the floor and began to open the mail. She was really only interested in one thing though: That piece of mail she is "reading" is the T. Rowe Price Report. Folding it up. And placing it in the bottom for safe keeping and future reference. Wonder what she might be considering investing in? On a completely different note, on our way to the gym this morning, it was: Minus ten degrees. There are only two good things about below zero temps. That usually means no snow and when we warm back up to the 20's and 30's it feels good. I love you and miss you something awful.
