Introducing Miss Emelia to the snow

Image
I think as soon as I finished typing yesterday about there not being any snow, it started..... Snowing. We only got a dusting at our house, but across the street at Alpenglow, it was sledding time! We packed the girls up and headed on over. Sean and Emelia. Sean and Autumn. Poor little Autumn is not feeling so good, but we thought she would have fun.... Sledding With her dad. That ride was scary! All that snow blowing in your face, you can hardly see! One part of me feels bad for Autumn, the other part of me is laughing!!! We had to let Autumn do it all by herself! And if Autumn gets a turn, Emelia needs one too! That snow suit look familiar? It was Autumn's. Don't you find this a little humorous? What are you people doing to me? Believe it or not, Autumn did have some fun. The three of us girls. Can we do it again mom? Until next time.... The Jordan's.

Who who?

We had a GIANT play date at the house today. There was a total of 13 kids under the age of four. We survived!!! This is mine and Autumn's pumpkin. After everyone left, I made Autumn: Clean up. Just kidding!!!!! I made a giant mess of some cous cous in the closet and Autumn was so kind as to help me get it cleaned up. Emelia can sit up on her own now. A skill Autumn didn't master until 5.5 months. After about 30 seconds or so, she just falls over. Excuse me sir, "witch" way....... In other news. It is getting to be that time of year- where we need to switch over to snow tires. I guess we are getting lucky again, with no snow, but the ice. That is another story. Until next time. Happy Halloween! The Jordan's.

Gearing up for Halloween. We had some company over: Emelia and Reagan. Broke out with the sugar cookies and Decorations and made some Iced pumpkins. Iced witches. Jack O' Lanterns. We've also been working on some crafts from Michael's. That is a haunted house. Sadly I do not have a finished picture yet! Emelia showing off her new shoes. Not as creepy as Autumn's old owl shoes, but still unique!! Now a quick video. Daddy's under my spell. The Jordan's.

Having some fun.

Chocolate cake from the Paris Cafe and bakery. I'll give you a few guesses as to who took a permanent marker and drew on my gear shifter, steering wheel, their belly, pants and legs........ We were walking around Costco and happened upon a guitar. I use to play the guitar when I was a kid, but I've forgotten most of it. I had Autumn sit down handed her the guitar, and she had a blast! We turn the corner and she found herself a pony. I wonder if Sean will get her that for Christmas? My racecar drivers! Hope you had a lovely weekend. The Jordan's.

A word on domestic violence.

Image
This post has been a long time coming. I believe one of the most difficult subjects I have yet to tackle on my blog. October is domestic violence awareness month. I have been thinking about what I'm going to say about it for several weeks now. For one, I want to make sure that what I say doesn't upset some of the people involved and for another, I try to keep my blog light hearted since it centers around my children and family life. Truth of the matter is that what happened to me and my mom when I was a child has affected every aspect of my life and it is an important part of who I am today. So with an open heart and trembling fingers, I'll try to share this story with you. When I was a child, not much older than Autumn is now, I witnessed the brutal attack and rape of my mother. As I was growing up, I was so traumatized by this one event, that I blocked it from my mind. I guess what I am saying is that for many years, I had no idea the event took place or that I ha

Jeep ride.

Autumn's been asking all week to go off roading in the Jeep, we finally did yesterday. Here is our adventure. We have to get everybody dressed first, but while hanging out in Autumn's room, I got these photos. Autumn says to me, "Mommy, Milliewah sooooo heavy." Got everybody dressed and off we go. Some girls are easy to please. Isn't it beautiful? While exploring, we bumped into: An airplane. So you know we had to check it out. After hitting up some trails in the Jeep, we headed over to a wildlife viewing area on base. I suppose she hit her limit on sitting up! She is such a happy girl. Not ready yet. I couldn't decide which picture I liked better, so I give you both. Autumn running. Emelia hanging out with dad. There was in fact, wildlife to view out there. Can you take a guess at what we saw? Sitting on the dock of the bay. I loved this shot of Emelia. The three of us girls. Autumn overboard. Autumn's accessories yesterday. She looks silly doesn't sh
