We shopped until we dropped!

Autumn and I had a pretty busy day. We went to Michael's to pick up some supplies for some art projects, then to Autumn's favorite store, Petco.

You see that dog house door behind her? She was totally trying to open that! ha ha ha I had to fuss at Autumn a little bit because she crashed that cart (on purpose mind you) into the bird house and freaked out all the poor birds.

We ran into a few really nice puppy friends, which Autumn loved! After Petco, we made our way out to Eagle River to hit up Walmart. Sarah sent me a gift card there for Autumn's birthday and I got a few books, two jumper dresses and two new pairs of jeans and still have some money left over on the gift card! They had the dresses and jeans for $5. You cannot beat that! On our way out, Autumn had to stop and see a cat about a car.

Autumn was hugging him. Autumn has been very affectionate today. Again, that always makes me wonder, is she just being super nice or is she getting sick?!?

After Walmart, we headed over to Fred Meyer where I found even more great deals. I got Autumn a whole bag of clothes for 75% off. Don't worry, all in all today I only spent about $30. Once we finished up at the Meyer, we were starving so we went to McDonald's (where every other Alaskan must have thought to take their kids today thanks to the melting snow, icy roads and general nastiness that is break up). It was insane in there, but Autumn and I got along just fine.

Showering her kitty cat with some love. Autumn was loving on me like that today too, showering me with hugs and kisses. I cannot tell you how good that makes me feel as Autumn's mom and her friend. I know you are looking forward to being showered with Autumn hugs and kisses.

We still have two more places to go today. We are headed to Target and Kohl's after nap time. I love you and miss you dearly. PS My love chain is getting so short!! My mind is constantly consumed with thoughts of you coming home. Part of all this running around is to help my mind not think about it. Your Favorite Wife and Airman. xoxo

Snowzilla.

Autumn and I began the day shoveling the driveway. That is much more work than it sounds like. I had to get us both suited up for the ten degree weather, put her in the backpack, then head on out. It took us about an hour to finish the driveway and when we came back in, poor little Autumn's face had frost nip on it. She has now had frost nip twice. Later today, we went to visit Snowzilla. Frosty the Snowzilla man is huge!!! The local government is trying to put a stop to Snowzilla citing a building code violation. Well, I say down with the man!!!! Keep Snowzilla up. Playing with fire.

I hear clank, clank, clank in the kitchen. This cannot be good, grab the camera first though- for proof. You never know what you might find. Uh huh! AUTUMN!! What mom? I wasn't doing anything! So I've moved the knives for now, but it is only temporary. They need to go in a locked cabinet. I took Autumn's step stool upstairs to our bathroom so she could brush her teeth. I think I'm going to head back to Target and buy another one. I'm lazy and do not want to drag one up/down the stairs. Autumn really enjoys brushing her teeth.... with MY toothbrush! Say AHHHHHHH- checking to make sure she did a good job. She is so funny. Autumn and I are going to head downtown after nap time to see about the ice sculptures and check out the Christmas lights. Remember that house in South Anchorage that does the Christmas lights to music over FM radio? This year is the last year, he is moving and his new neighborhood cannot support the traffic. With Crisis comes clarity.

I've gone back in forth in my mind a million times as to whether or not I should even write what I'm getting ready to write. When I think really hard about it, the truth is, I need to write it. I need the essence of who I am to be preserved somewhere. How I came to the decisions that I did, where my mind was at, where my heart was at in it. I need something that my children can look back on and try to understand me, or at least the essence of me. This tale begins about a month ago. I found a lump in my left breast while I was in the shower. I always do my breast exams in the shower. I'm pretty faithful about it too. About once a month or so, I check around and make sure I don't feel anything weird. That isn't easily done, you see, I have lumpy breasts, so I really don't know what I'm looking for. Lumpy breasts run in my family. This one particular day, about a month ago, I felt something that felt weird to me, but I was unsure about it.
